I only started reading BP when Ta-Nehisi Coates started writing it, so I'm way behind. I'm looking forward to getting into the older stories, especially the Priest and Kirby stories.

In that case you may want to catch up with Don McGregor and Reginald Hudlin as well although the latter is really only light relief.

Priest wrote a seven issue miniseries in 2003 called The Crew which acts as a kind of epilogue to his run; sadly as a non-BP book this isn't included in the free issues. McGregor's Jungle Action isn't either. They're not really essential like the Priest run however.
