How common and/or difficult are manual swaps? If you can drift an auto then you'll have a machine on your hands with a manual. Thing doesn't roll much for having crappy suspension.

Having owned two or three Nissan 4-speeds, I seriously 'd at the Fail-o-matic thing.

Not going to be any roll with lowering springs and blown shocks... but I'm betting there's a lot of bounce.

Nice... a rat-rodded R31... a man after my own tastes!

Manual conversion would take a weekend to do. And quite commonly done. It does have alot of body roll, just can't see it in the pics. In-car you can feel it alot. Also you can select 1st and 2nd gear in auto's so it's not exactly hard to drift. Just have to rely on power over and weight transfer. No clutch kicking available obviously.

Err... how is it rat-rodded?

Mismatched wheels, rattle-can hood. Rat-rodding started out more as a philosophy than the sad, image-conscious scene it is today (with fake patina and everything).

It's basically: This car is built to drive, damn the aesthetics!

I love it. ;)

I like it! Like its said above, built to drive!

Can't see the Jatco box liking it for too much longer though, change fluids and stuff often?

Its a shame that literally 75% or R31/R30 Skylines i see in real life are very very worse for wear/being thrashed etc. Haven't seen very many tidy ones at all. You'rs is kinda the average of what i see.

Same box behind it has the auto turbo R33's so I figure she'll be right.

There are some mint 31's. E.g.

Just requires money. They were poorly made cars tbh.

Bugger the RB20DET, throw on RB25DET heads to that RB30. OK, money wins that argument.:indiff:

I've seen one tidy one at a few of our Skyline Club meets a few years back, and of course pictures of very tidy ones. Maybe when i win Lotto i'll buy a few and tidy them up. ;)

Lol so many people say that.

But I'm driving an R31... what makes you think I could afford to do something like that? lol

LAND-AHOY CAP'N!

R31 represent! Yours is a driven a bit more flamboyantly than mine though to say the least. And that 4-speed auto is a ***** of a gearbox.
