R34 vs. Grudge Match Round 1

My question is about the times we all make...

When and where will they be posted...

Actually I just wanna ask, will they be posted.

I mean, how can we all get an idea of which car is faster without looking at the final results. (although we all know the vette is faster)

I just read over every page of the last competition and it never had results posted.

I think it would be a major mistake to not post results.

What do you guys think?

Should we, and will we post times?

I havent. I dont know what time zone the deadline is. But if it is central, where I am, I have about 40 minutes to submit mine. I better go hurry.

Well it looks like the deadline is long gone so now its a matter of when will those damn times be up and posted.

I sure hope these things are up soon cause Im just dying to see what the deal is.

Congratulations to FuryX21! Next time I'll pick a track without a mile-long straightaway!

Hell yea, vettes kicked some ass.

I wanna mention that no skylines even came close to winning.

Are those all the times?

Thanks for getting them up so fast.

are you guys kidding? i did a 206 in the r34. and thought that wouldnt be good enough. i just made that time while screwing aroun for a few laps. doh!, i should have entered!

maybe i will go get the exact times and post them here, just for fun. i dont think it matters much.

i know, i did the last r34 vs z06 challenge. i actualy won the monaco round!!

i will probably just look up the times and post them here, just to let everyone know. and see how competitive they are.

where are mr P's times? i thought he would come in here and clean up. thats mainly who i was afraid of.

i have no idea. i may try this out later to see how i do. i think i'll go for the nissan. yes i know this is over

2:05.072 Z06
2:08.572 R34

unofficial, unsubmitted times.
I will go work on that Z06 time and update you guys on it later. Im impressed by the times by gokent and furyx21.

I kindof think the next round should have a longer time period. It was difficult to get time in to try my hand at it. I only really had an hour at it, and I wasnt happy with my times.

Where's the next round going to be at??

Here's something to think about: how about we race the cars at one of the wet tracks? That way the R34 will have a much better chance, and probably even the advantage. I'm not suggesting that we race at a wet track next round, but its just something to think about for later.

I dont think a wet track is really a good track, not because of the obvious impending loss, but because of the fact there it is such an obvious advantage that there would be no even comparison between the two.

And I gotta say, advanR, thank you.

I raced my ass of to get that time and didnt think it could go any lower. I am wishing I had one of those xport or shark things everyone talks about right now.

Plus I wanted to mention that we should think about the deep forest track.

That would be perfect for the people in the skylines to prove that a small twisty where the skyline can walk away with this... if it can.

Of course, if we get some racers at the level of made in holland, then this whole race will get thrown off due to his skills making up for the skylines weakness.

Just think it over... deep forest, trail mountain... whatever, but those are both small tracks.

But having a round where the R34 has the advantage would only be fair since we've raced on a track where the Z06 had the advantage. But if you want to talk about twisty tracks, then Cote D'Azur should not go unmentioned...

Too bad the Polyphony team decided not to have Autumn Ring in GT3 :(

Well, I just narrowed my Z06 time down to 2:03.962. If i feel like it later, i thnk there is atleast another half second left there.

I just ran both cars at laguna seca just to see how they compared. After about 4 laps in both cars, the R34 was only about 1.5 seconds back. That is pretty damn close. I think it is due to the long sweepers, the R34 has less understeer through these and can go through full throttle. With the Z06 you must slow down or downshift. Maybe after some practice though the Z06 would have more room for improvment though, because you just need to slowly scrup off less speed while going through these.

I think last time we had 2 or 3 rounds of this challenge. deep forest raceway, Monaco, and complex string. The Z06 won all rounds. Actually gokents, deep forest had a big advantage for the Z06 because the last few turns of the track are very slight and drven full throttle. Not to mention that long uphill section. In the beginning of the course, the R34 definatley has an advantage because you can throw the car around much easier, but after that, there arent many twisty sections. The Z06 also killed the R34 at monaco. This course is also a bit twisty, but they are all very slow corners. The Z06 doesnt have too much of a disadvantage here, and then when you need to put on the power again, the Z06 leaves the R34 in the dust.

I think a wet track might be a good idea. I will run the two cars at a few other tracks to get an idea of wher the R34 might be more even with the Z06.

Damn, my fault for seeing the pub as more importnat than racing! I may actually have to make an effort next race by the looks of it, complex string anyone?

On sims tires!

I swear that would be so much fun. The R34 is going to be out-powered on any surface that has decent grip. So lets not have decent grip. :mischievous:
