First, I understand that this should possibly be posted into the NASCAR thread because it is the main focus, however, I wanted to bring up a point.

Just like in all the other series that were represented in GT (such as JGTC/Super GT, WRC, Group C, etc.), there were different years and iterations of race cars represented or those particular championships. Since NASCAR is going through a transition into a new COT car, do you guys think PD will represent stock cars from the early years of the sport?

I ask this because in GT's past, we have seen the focus of the game change from being an accumulative of only the current and most popular, to the wide representation of the unique and obscure. Now, even though this does have to do a lot with the limitations and agreements with licensing, I feel that GT5 should have an equal representation of the history of race cars from any series, similar to a historics. GT4 did this, but I think they're could be more done.

Thanks,

Hopefully, we get at least one DLC each year that gives us the latest racing cars and liverys from NASACR, Super GT, and WRC, so that we won't get stuck with 09' cars till GT6.

I always thought today's NASCAR cars were basically the same as the early ones ;), seriously i don't think all previous racing series featured in GT were always complemented by their previous incarnations.
DTM featured apart from the contemporary cars some early and mid nineties examples as well, and some other series did as well, although Group C was always going to be older cars only as that series was cancelled IRL some 20 years ago.
Although in general i applaud the inclusion of as many classics, be it roadcars or racecars, i don't remember every racing series had a classic representation as well.
Mostly they were separated by less than 5 years, some were further apart, but no guaranteed inclusion.
So depending perhaps on the part NASCAR is going to play in GT5, it could be possible, but don't get your hopes up too much.

If you want to upadte those series year by year, you need to hold the licences(after the game release)for them. That's some serious $$$. So I don't think so.

I thought GT5 would mean serious $$$? And surely the racing series would want to have GT5 as advertisment, like Super GT and NASCAR? As far as I know not many people watch either here in Europe (even if they (me included) want to watch them). Maybe lower license costs? (Probably B******s)
