You know in the others section for tuning your car, how there is a tuning to make it a race car. Are the cars actually real ones after you've modified them? Like are they cars that actually exist?

A lot of the cars are liveried up as the real deal.
Some are "fantasy" cars.

Some of them are definitely real. Check out this thread:

I just saw a drifting contest on ESPN Speed and the winner was in this new Mustang. It had the same exact color scheme that the '98 SVT has when you mod it up in GT2.

A lot of the LM cars and some oddities like the Honda S2000 GT1 are fantasy cars but I think many of the parts (like the engines, for instance) are based on real-life capabilities.

Most of the LM racing cars are fantasy. Some of the racing mods are in fact real, I can't think of anything off of the top of my head, but there are some. a lot of them are just things like Castrol logos radomly scattered over cars.

Some of them are real cars... and the anothers not.
usually the cars with "history" are real...

The LM cars doesnt exist , but the manufacturer can make it if they want.
in anothers words the LM cars are computer models of prototipes of that cars...
