[RACE] Formula 3500 International Series - Jammy21 takes the crown!Open

Well, we've done some testing, best lap at Spa is a 1:58.394 right now.

Edit: it's incredible how much these cars can dance before spinning. It's an art, trying to control the seemingly random oversteer which is actually kinda fast... But exceedingly risky.

Precision is the name of the game, really. Whether you're sliding or not hardly affects the lap times...

No, that's not the intention at least. I believe that you can have a good race at Bathurst if:

1: the drivers have respect for each other (i.e. not run each other into the wall), and
2: they know that if they drive recklessly, the penalties are automatically bigger than on "normal" circuits

These cars don't like bumps and hills much. Bathurst will be "that" week... The one where the guy with the most practice, who is most consistent, wins.

Just done a little test, I just got under the 1:58 barrier. I might join in on this, haven't done any single seater stuff on GTP...

Finally I have time for this and now this week I start testing this and getting my setup for Monza...
Might test Spa also to see how fast I could go there too...

Edit: I did some 5 lappers (time trial mode) at Spa (dry weather) and with default settings (only change max speed 360 ->320) I did 1'58.2. With some custom setting changes and same time trail I did 1'57.5.
Now back to Monza...

OP and sheets overhauled 👍

Looks like it's shaping up to be another series in which the main battle will be for second place (because @jammy21 will have won the race by the time we mortals get into 2nd gear  )

I think with the heavy damage it would be a good idea to do a practice start so that everyone can get used to going into t1 without causing any incidents. It's the worst thing ever when your race gets ruined because of somebody behind who can't appreciate what a brake is.

Yeah, I should probably upon opening the room make a test start for, well, pretty much all of us. Might even make that a mandatory part of the raceday, where not taking part = not racing.

If nothing else comes up and you're all ok with my poor connection, I should be able to set up something in between 1 and 2 hours

Bailed out of the room due to parental control level 9000+ :(

Will have another tomorrow :)

When?

Edit: Chances are I'll miss it anyway because I'll check for a reply after the room is closed. If I can make it though, that would be great.

Keep in mind that Morten's in some northern European country called Denmark (:P) which is perpetually 6 hours ahead of EST, and that his parents don't want him on PS3 pay a given hour (9 or 10), so it would be 3 or 4 pm at the latest here.

Hence my edit. I probably won't have a chance to check his reply by the time his room closes unless I check in my early morning. (I don't get up too early usually. Though I have been recently to watch F1 coverage.)

Yesterday I had huge problems with tire wear but they seem to have gone away after restoring rigidity to my car.

I just ran 7 laps at Spa and my tires were at 9 all around whereas yesterday they would have been at like 6 in the back 8 in the front. The laps were like 4 sec slower on average though, but I think that can be cured with a bit more practice and setup adjustment.

I was really worried that I'd have to back out of this series because of this, but thankfully the issue was resolved.

I have a lobby up right now in case anyone wants to practice by the way.

Now Monza testing started and after some tunning done my laptime (track dry+sunny) gone under 1'32.

Sorry about the double-post, but, as promised, the next session is in progress:

1472-6118-3787-3248-4210

..which means there's nearly 3 seconds out there for me to find.. 🤬 I should set my sights on last row in qualifying sessions!

Draft is pretty monstrous in these cars

Indeed it is.. I sense a lot of overtakes made purely by drafting another car (not like that in itself is a bad thing, though)

Session ended, 1:33,1 as my best yet :indiff:
