It is some how possible for you to keep it with the last place points rule however its a slim chance, but I think anyone down to me has a shot at taking the points lead.

DNF's and DNS's do not count towards ballast removal, so you are correct you keep your ballast. There are two ways to lose ballast.
-Finish 9th-14th and be running at the finish.
-Ballast Reset before the oval rounds.
