[RACE] NR2003: 2014 GTPlanet Fantasy Series *That's A Wrap!*

I forgot to tell you guys that it was "open season" for the wreckers at IMS. Sorry.

Was that why one of them looked like Elmer Fudd?

EDIT: Also "Well deserved win" could only really be one of two people to me. goofytyler, already bunked, or our points leader after 10 events, AJHG. The latter would be my $5 bet.

Upon further review and reports from the hospital... the driver that hit the pit median may be out for the season, but came about 3 inches from being impaled. Our doctors and stewards are still discussing the accident and we will keep you posted.

If this IS the case and the driver cannot continue, I'm offering my driver to fill the seat so their team may continue chasing the championship.

An impromptu Press Conference has just been announced and we are now going live where several teams and drivers are present:

Indianapolis, IN-

At this time we will now accept questions regarding *** and the #***** team.

Question: What (if anything) has happened with the members of Team Kate Upton? Were any of them involved?

Several of the TKU cars were involved in one, or both of the big ones but right now the primary focus of the press conference is in regards of driver health, safety, and accident dissection. Thankyou.

Question 1: Was the #50 car able to finish the race? If not what wreck was the car involved in?

Question 2: What condition is the injured driver in?

Question 3: What things have the stewards discussed about that driver?

Firstly that information is unavailable at the moment due to lack of memory.

Second it looks like they have sustained a broken leg but it is unconfirmed at the very moment. We are getting contact to the hospital shortly.

We have discussed the impact, the car safety and driver safety, and have discussed with some trackside doctors the severity of the accident

*Guy that's somewhat recognizable, but wearing a long coat and trilby with an old-school "PRESS" label on it*

What IS the current status of ***** and how long will they remain in the medical facility?

Have the stewards discussed the possibilities of this occurring?

Has there been discussion about a temporary driver, or even a full replacement flying the team's banner?

How will this impact the series as a whole in the immediate future, and do you see any reverberations in future at any point?

The current status is unknown. The wall entered the cockpit and he favored hid right leg, bearing no weight upon exiting the car.

It had been on my mind personally, wondering If a situation could occur where a driver was in that situation with a put wall, yes.

There was already discussion of a replacement should one be needed. @BRRT_Angel and @PatrisS136 are to name a few.

The series must move on, obviously. A driver has been injured but the fact that an accident like this can occur without a severe consequence is a true testament to the safety of the series. Our R&D guys are already working with the vehicles to try to make them even safer. This is a rare accident and an unfortunate one at that. This does not in any way tarnish the relationship between GTPFS and IMS. We prepare for a lot of accidents but things like this can not always be expected. We are looking into putting a tire wall on the median but that is still under discussion. As of now we are going to move onto Martinsville as scheduled.

I have attempted to calculate the amount of G-Force that the driver experienced in the crash. I have given my calculations to @nascarfan1400 and I will let him give out the data as he wishes

Apparently the impact, as I've just been given word, was more than 700g. A calculation may be wrong, but that's about 10x that of a NASCAR crash, according to Jahgee. Remember thoguh there are seat belts and HANS devices in use at all times. We will continue to dig into this and will announce appropriate consequences as follows

I'd be up for subbing.

So it would appear quietgirl may no longer be the sole female driver. Thank you for your answers.

*Going to report the situation*

Can I help with the calculations?
Doesn't matter now... We've just gotten Hospital confirmation

The driver has suffered brain injuries not immediately evident. To preserve his life he has been put into a medically induced coma. He has also been discovered to have broken his right Arm and leg, in addition to several ribs. As of now he is unconscious and will remain in that state until further notice. Immediate brain surgery will be taking place in an attempt to keep him alive and save brain cells. Obviously this is the end of his season. @BRRT_Angel is en route and will fill his shoes for the remainder of the season. As of now she will be scoring for herself and not the driver in a coma, however that bit is not set in stone. Our thoughts are with the crew members and driver. We hope we can see him on the track for 2015. Obviously a bad circumstance, but the field will have now seen 43 faces, 2 of them female. Again. Thoughts are with the driver and his family and we will keep you updated on his condition through his surgeries. The fact that he even moved after the accident let alone exit the car is truly a strange thing and a good one at that. BRRT is currently on her way to Martinsville with the rest of the drivers and modifications are being made to the drivers car to fit BRRTs needs. Stay strong ****

Ummm....If bad news travels fast, that was a 🤬 U2 from the blindside!

The driver (name is in a spoiler a few posts up) is now undergoing neurosurgery. We won't have any updates for several hours, when the operation has completed. So that's it as of now. We will give you info as it is available in the morning
