I tried what you described. I used an external camera, turned the wheel full lock, then accelerated. The cars wheels did not straighten at all. Seeing that you only have the free content, take the Aquila CR1 on RaceRoom Raceway. If you can brake or accelerate without any lockup or wheel spin then you aren't on Get Real mode.
If you have access to the G5 Classics competition, take the Zakspeed Capri on Suzuka - this car is very easy to lockup on braking and if not very careful a ton of wheel spin. With aids on either of these are very easy to drive.

Is there any way to play R3E or DTM offline????
I bought the stand alone DTM experience and almost all of the raceroom content but if the server is down or I cant connect for some reason it doesnt allow me to play????
 
Yeah i had the server go down on me as well, it might be maintenance or something.

I think its an online game only.
 
So I found a tip online that gave me full controll of my steering finally, found here.

"Go to > C:\Users\XXXXXXX\Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\ControlSet and open your rcs file and search for > Steer Ratio Speed="5.9999" // Speed at which low speed steering lock override ends

And set it to 0.0"

You need to open this file in notepad and edit it from there.

I think this may reduce the amount of lock you can use, but It felt way more connected to the road, like I was finally in control. My steering wheel no longer straightens out when throttle is applied.

I'd definitely recommend this to folks who haven't felt connected to the road in this game.

I happened to have an email giving me a 1100vRP so I bought the 90 Quattro, 320 Turbo, 635 CSI and the Apollo Sport, as well as Suzuka, Laguna Seca and the other hillclimb. I'm kind of tempted to get DTM Experience, but I don't know. Are they planning to let people use non-DTM cars on DTM tracks and DTM cars on non-DTM tracks? If not, I might just not bother out of principle...
 
I love this game but I wish it was optimized a bit better, I know it's my fault for not having a top spec computer but the jerkiness can be distracting. :(

What are your computer specs? R3E/DTM runs very well for me at 5812x1080. There are a couple of graphical settings that can make a big difference.

I mucked around with the settings a bit and got it work pretty well! :D

I'm just running an i3 laptop with regular intel HD graphics, but I'm getting a consistent frame-rate so I'm happy with how it looks.

For 12 euro the DTM is worth it. Don't consider it part of raceroom though, use it as a standalone game.
 
Those DTM cars are a blast to drive! I have been doing the competition that let's you choose between the 3 of them and that BMW is sublime. :drool:

I love what Simbin does after getting to know their work on the 360, but don't the circuits in raceroom look a bit dull and colorless to you guys also, or do i need to buy glasses?

AC also seems to suffer from this a bit i think.
 
No complaints from me on R3E/DTM graphics, not sure what you are seeing but you shouldn't base your opinion on YouTube videos. RacePro on the 360 looked dull to me but that was also at a much lower resolution than many are running on the PC.

Mainly the color palette being a bit dull and blue-ish.
 
I started to play this game today and I have a few questions:

1) What do I have to do to unlock Single Races/Championships?

2) I like heavy steering but the R3E feels too light and I can't tune the force feedback. What can I do to solve this?

Might be worth mentioning that they've got some discounts on right now. They gave me 1100vRP free a while back which I used to buy a few cars, I quite enjoyed them so I bought some more vRP (cheekily paying in roubles, but it's like 60% cheaper that way; 2000vRP for the price of 1100...) and got more stuff. I really like that they further discount a pack if you already own any of the content, I own 4% of the ADAC pack so it's down from 1800vRP to 1729 (I'm sure what I actually spent on that 4% was more than 71vRP, but less is less).

Having said that, I'm not really in a rush to buy any more stuff for it - I already have a GT3-class car so I don't feel the need to buy all those others too. I don't have the tracks though... I probably would be interested in them if the Nordschliefe was included, but it's not, so.
