Hello Jocke and friends, Well technically you are my friends aswell cause i'm also Jocke...

The more Jocke friends the better as far as I'm concerned. Having said that, although we are Jocke's mates, we'll soon be running under a different heading. This is most likely to be 'Racers Reunited' judging by the way the voting has gone so far.

This will be a strange twist in the short life of our club, because we've never been separated. Then again there is the fact that the name of the actual club is 'Comfort Club' (Number 1001609, in case you wanted to meet with us one Tuesday) but we do sometimes race on grippier tyres. However, in my own case it is only whilst wearing slippers, so I am always comfortable.

I hope that's made everything clear :)

Cheers, Zo.

ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR TUESDAY 29TH!

The first event will be the qualifying at Silverstone chaps, but the room will be set for a 1 lap race. When the race starts please set off and do a formation lap as in F1. No overtaking, just drive briskly around the circuit and finish in grid order. This will set the grid for the first race proper, which will be run after a five minute familiarisation period with the new cars some will be using.

Cheers, cheers, Zo.

OIL.

Chaps, the room setting for tonight will be with grids determined by previous race results. If you have to nip out to change your oil the system will put you to the back upon your return.

Cheers, cheers, cheers, Zo.

I've purchased all the cars, painted & numbered them and oil'd em up. But none of them have turned a wheel yet! So the "five minute familiarisation" will be their first run out.

There's also a bit of a technical problem in that my BluRay player has decided to misbehave and not read the disk on occasions. It's probably going to require a new laser (cheers @tarnheld 👍).
Since this is going to take a little while to sort out I've now got the digital version plus all its updates downloading and installing. This takes ages!!!
Hopefully it'll be finished in time.

On reflection for the large amount of use I've got out of GT6 I should have got the digital version originally. It would have given the poor BD player a rest.

Hi friends.

Lots of activity and alerts in here today :) (I'm usually checking gtp a few times a day on the phone).
I went home a little earlier today and managed to make a few changes to the old Comfort Club.
Go right ahead Zolon if you want to continue using the lobby in the community. Saves you the trouble
of creating a whole new one from scratch. It's entirely up to you. 👍

Here's my change from not half an hour ago;

The photo is from June 23rd when we raced the 86, FR-S and BRZ at the Nordschleife.
It's still my favorite race since I got to trade places and keep pace with Zo and Dusty
throughout the entire 45 km race.

Zolon is naturally the face of the Racers Reunited so his #32 Toyota 86 is on the cover
with me breathing down his neck frantically trying to go for the overtake wherever I can
in my Scion FR-S. And Dusty driving his Subaru BRZ in third place in the background.

That was a fabulous race, actually my first race in the Comfort Club! 👍 👍 👍 Ahh, nostalgia... :D

Taking the Dusty approach eh Paul? Well, it works for him so there's no reason why it won't work for you............ hang on a minute................ :)

Thanks very much Jocke. What with a recent appearance on 'Bargain Hunt' (looking like an 85 year old tramp! And we lost £107), and being the face of 'Racers Reunited' I'm beginning to feel like an international superstar

Cheers, Zo.

Cracking evening Zolon and great racing nice and clean. I think most races ended up with a battle with Zolon or Nuts
and a good battle with Jocke for a few laps as well, all I know is I was smiling all night. Well done to Zolon on winning the night and thanks again for a brilliant night gents.
Cheers

I agree with Coke, great fun tonight. I'm glad I got to stay in the Camaro, I was really getting to grips with it towards the end. Enough to even have a battle with Dusty!!

The other two cars are untouched and the dealer won't take them back because he says removing the numbers will damage the paintwork. So I'll be sending you the bill Zo. :)

all I know is I was smiling all night
Me too. GT6 still has some life in it. ;)

And if @Dustybin does happen to read the thread...

Congratulations on the birth of your baby daughter.
Hope all goes well for the future.

(Perhaps a few sleepless nights will slow him down a little - doubt it though.)

How rude of me......great news @Dustybin on the birth of you daughter and pleased to hear all is well. You've done the hardest part it's now time for your good lady to take over (don't show her that bit) good luck for the future.

By the way I'm still amazed how quick you are its fun being behind you in a race just to try and work out how you do it lol, great stuff

Congratulations @Dustybin
Glad to hear all well with baby.

Sorry gents for leaving early but was on a promise to only spend an hour on gt6!!

Excellent racing. I enjoyed the Camaro more than my vantage which must have had the V8 rather than the V12!;)

I have a beautifully tuned Maserati in the wings from ages ago if you ever race them again with tuning?

Sorry gents for leaving early but was on a promise to only spend an hour on gt6!
You were on GT6ometer which was counting down to zero.

On that note @Zolon32 - I'm not sure what the other drivers think but would it be possible to hold the meeting a little earlier? Maybe 8 to 8.30bst (7-7.30gmt). This would of course mean the event would finish earlier which would help me (and maybe Suts), but would also benefit our drivers from over the channel who are perhaps 1 or 2 hours ahead of us and could then stay for the whole meeting.
Perhaps there's chance of another voting poll! :)

...my vantage which must have had the V8 rather than the V12!
It was the engine management software. Tells you it's a V12 but really is an 8.
There will be a recall soon to fix it. :mischievous:

Congrats Dusty, should be four years or so and we'll have little Senna kicking our butts too!

Link please!!!!!

I think it's well off the air by now Nuts, and you wouldn't have wanted to see it anyway, honest. I really did look like an 85 year old tramp. It was horrible :nervous:

I'm sorry it took so long last night fellas, but I'd barely noticed the time passing at all, I was loving it. Thanks go to Dusty for missing the first two events, and Nuts for making a couple of uncharacteristic slips, which let me steal the win.

Final points totals

Zolon 33
Nuts 26
Coke 25
Paul 24
Dusty 22 (3 races)
qKen 17
Jocke 15 (16, including bonus point for SS Route 5) Very impressive climb up the chart Jocke..... wait a minute....
FPC 9 (2 races)

I originally put those three cars together with a view to having a full on championship for people to really get their teeth into over a four week period; two races each week, a fifteen minute one with normal depletion, then a forty-five minute race with very fast depletion. If everyone knows about it well in advance they should hopefully be able to get in relevant practice and produce some belting racing. Anyway, that's for another time.

I'm now going to try and put some photos from last night into this entry (dammit, there's no cartoon for fingers crossed).

............................................................................. AAAAAARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I've forgotten how to do it!

I'll be back, Zo.

Sorry I didn't make it last night. :(
Hopefully next week.

Thanks Mallet. I think you would have found it fun last night, but hopefully it will be next week too. That Audi is a beautiful beast. Thanks to BB for suggesting it 👍

Cheers, Zo.

Fellas, would you mind letting me know how you feel about this? I'd be perfectly happy to start earlier, but there may be others who can't because of geographical considerations. (PM or note on the thread is fine.)

Cheers, cheers, Zo.

Not being the sharpest I get confused with time zones i.e. BST and GMT and GTO so on my clock and when I watch the news at ten it means its 10 pm in England, I'm happy with 8 pm in England.

Great races yesterday Zo! The three cars balanced out the driver skills really well and close racing ensued! 👍 Would definitely stayed longer, so i'd actually prefer to begin 30min-1hr earlier. And if we do the Trinity Coupé Championship i'm definitely in! :D

You forgot to mention the wheels - they are always yellow. :)

Good point Paul, I'll sort that out. And................... a picture coming up?................. more to follow?.................. First off, Dusty getting his car all.........................

Cheers, Zo. (There'll be no stopping me now )

Well, I hasn't gone exactly as I planned, but they're all there and one day I'll sort out how to get things in the correct order

Well gents, I'm sorry that this is a second consecutive post, but it's got relevant stuff in it, so I hope the good people of GTP forgive me......

The poll has closed and the name 'Racers Reunited' carried the day with a resounding victory. So that's who we are, well done to Paul for coming up with that idea.

On the subject of scheduling races, it seems that there is an appetite for getting it on a little earlier than we currently do. That being the case let's see how 19:00GMT goes (That's 8.00pm currently for those of us resident in the UK). The format for this coming Tuesday will take much less time to complete than last weeks mini championship did anyway, so hopefully no one is going to be held back until deep into the night.

See you all in a few days, cheers, Zo.

Nice pictures Zo, you're getting the hang of it. That finish between us at Willow was CLOSE!
I must watch the race again.

OK we Reunite at 8pm (UK) then. 👍
If we finish a bit too early we can always fit another shorter race(s) in.

Oh a fuel saving race too. ;)

Right, since Zo turned on visual damage for the SSR5 race
and since we all had promised not to harm our precious vehicles
and since there were supposed bonus points available (source unknown)
for the least damaged one.. here is a look at the results by race end.

Dusty = Moderate damage, some paint scraped off but no visible dents.
Likely an unhappy team boss but Dusty most likely gets to keep his job.
Special Stage Route 5_4.jpg

FlatPlane = The only undamaged parts on his car were the windows,
and perhaps also the rear view mirrors.
It would cost more to repair it than to buy a whole new car altogether.
For shame, Flat.
Special Stage Route 5_5.jpg

Paul = No damage. The only thing on there seems to be a splash up the panels
from a dirty puddle of rain or something. Cleanest drive of the race?
Special Stage Route 5_6.jpg

My car = No damage on there. Those are actually ink-stains from a newspaper I read before the race.
Special Stage Route 5_7.jpg

Zolon = Lots and lots of damage to the paint on the front end and bonnet.
And on such a nice orange color too. For shame, Zo.
Special Stage Route 5_8.jpg

Markus = Oh God. It looks like you fell asleep at the wheel and scraped the left hand side
for several minutes. That poor car.
Special Stage Route 5_9.jpg

numbnuts = Amazing damage. What happened?
I guess you're out of a drive now, surely you must have been fired
immediately after exiting that wreck on four wheels.
Special Stage Route 5_10.jpg

cokebloke = Not so bad that. Were you reading that same ink-stain-leaving-newspaper as I was?
Special Stage Route 5_11.jpg

Now about those bonus points, Zo.

Zolon = Lots and lots of damage to the paint on the front end and bonnet.

Drat! And I'd have got away with it too, if it wasn't for that pesky Jocke. I smacked the car twice in the first lap, I couldn't believe it.

So, I remember the conversation, an extra point for the person with the least bent car at the end. Points total updated :)

Cheers, Zo.

Suts has mentioned that he's got a Maserati Granturismo with a tune on it and........ wait for it.......... wings!
I tuned this up a year ago for a Maserati championship which I never entered as it never took place. You can view it on the community page. :D

Oh.. I found out why my vantage was so slow. I must have been using it for one of the seasonals as it was detuned to 450PP!!! :dunce::dopey:
So I was about 75pp down on everyone else.

Been trying the R8 on some new tracks courtesy of Track path editor It's good fun.

Looking forward to Tuesday.
