Racing Mods wrecked my car...

Hello,

Not sure if this has happened before, I'm assuming it has. But I had my Z06 pretty much perfect for super speed way tracks and even more windy tracks in the game. It had 866HP, and about 740 torque. My best lap at Daytona was 39.143 and on that track I topped out at 235 going into each turn and during the turn I could hold a consistent 219 to 220MPH.

I had some extra money, and decided to get the Racing Mods and once I went to garage to check it out, I noticed I had 547HP! So I freaked out, and went to install all the parts I had again, and I was thinking okay phewww I thought I lost everything. WRONG, I did. Everything installed, I'm down to 840HP and 715 torque. And I can only get it up to 225 with the same setup installed.

I had no clue that, that would wreck everything in the car, I just thought it would add the body parts, a wing, and some decals.

I'm just wondering if this happened to anyone else, and if theres a fix to this or I just have to wait for it to get the power and torque back.

Thanks

Josh

There's another reason for the loss in top speed...

Aerodynamics. The RM has ridiculous downforce but as a result has much higher drag (both aerodynamic and rolling resistance to an extent due to greater force on the tires)... Which results in needing more power to hit the same speed.

That said, it'll likely now be much faster at Indy.

This thread saved me some future frustration. What other unexpected situations, glitches, and issues should I be watching out for?

Choose your pick - tyres, brakes...

Just use the search facilty and look through the threads on whatever subject your interested in and I'm sure there'll be something that makes you go hmmmm...

Good info man. So all in all, will I ever end up with the original HP and torque I had and resulting in my old top speed? Cause I'm seriously thinking of just buying another vett and tune it up like I had it.

And BTW that time on daytona is with your setup for the zo6 :D. I'll be doing a review after I get more knowledge of the car.

You should be able to get it back up to 866hp (I have) as long as you've got everything needed installed and have made sure it doesn't need a rebuild or oil change.

As for speed... Eh, I'm not entirely sure. You should be able to drop downforce low enough to have a fairly minimal impact on it, the rest would be making sure gearing is as close as possible to peak power at max speed.

Before you perform the RM, you're warned that this will happen if you continue.

And if you click yes, the GT5 mechanics do the rest (even turn the car a full 180 degrees inside that tiny garage). O.o
