Rally Questions

Here's a question worth pondering:

How do get the last R-license test done? I've tried over and over, and cannot do it. I used to be a rally god when GT2 was the game of choice, but now I just plain suck. I could've smoked it before, but lost my edge in order to be a better grip racer. Now I can't nail the drifting on dirt thing. Anybody have any tips?

One thing I can suggest, is that you learn to take it easy on some corners. There are a couple of corners in Tahiti Maze/Circuit, where if you keep the throttle open, you can almost always expect to spin-out. There's one just before the tarmac straightaway, and there's another at the end of the long dirt straightaway in the middle of the course. You can use the brakes somewhat, but I think that most people either just drift or keep it floored throughout most of the race. Smooth steering and sudden side-to-side movements should be avoided. When you're trying to thread the needle on the Smokey Mountain track (just before you get to the tunnel, and just after leaving the tunnel on Smokey Mountain II), success depends upon keeping the car in the middle, and keeping side-to-side movement to a minimum. Oh, and keeping it floored!!!

Hope that helps somewhat.

Oh yes, and on the Swiss Alps course, just before you come to the last turn before the Start/Finish line, there is sort-of chicane which you have to hit the brakes for way early in order to get through it in a controlled manner. If you don't, you'll swing way wide and probably smack the wall. The guy behind you, if he's close, will more than likely sail past you as he keeps to the middle, so keep those last couple of corners in mind.

HEY S31ENDER, LOOK HERE

er, the mitsubishi dealer? in between the 6 gsr and the tme w/ stripe

I must be a moron. lol. I've owned this game for 4 years now and I've never noticed there were two TME versions.
Someone slap me!

I ran all of the rally races Monday and Tuesday of this week. The first circuit I used the EVO Prototype I won in the regular circuits. It was a breeze against the underpowered competition. Then I ran head to head with the same car I competed with. I found the first race was always a breeze, the second was very competitive. The third I always had to add a stage 1 turbo. In the final wet race I ran the EVO Prototype against the WRX Prototype. Head to head again with a stage 1 on the final race.
My favorite rally car has to be the EVO Prototype, followed by a close second by the Focus.
I also noticed what DerAlta mentioned in an earlier post. The AI always stays within 2-3 seconds of you, regardless of how you modify your ride.
I really loved the rally challenges and wished PD had included more rally races. I completed the entire series in two evenings.

hey, you don't need a rally car to win the races. You know the Skyline V specs, well if you have one of those, tune it up to thw max, oh and don't 4get to put on rally tires. I know this works, but i do the same with my Mine's Skyline V spec ;)

Simple answer

If you want to be cheap and win all of the events, Go with a Nissan Skyline V-Spec II @ 1000HP+. You'll crash into the wall and everything, but there is absolutly no way you will lose(unless of course your going the wrong way :dopey: )

If you want to beat the rally event with honour and a sense of self acomplishment. Go with an EVO. (The prototype handles really well).

I use the Evo VII and Impreza STi WRX. The evo's got better accel and the Impreza has better top speed. Its suggested to use the semi-racing tranny and 2plate clutch, but i go for 100% havy modification on my cars. Another thing--you can't always go by other ppl's tunings;you have to find what feels comfortable for you. It may take a while, but in the end, its really worth it.

I just use any fast car that has a turbo and rally tires on it.
Look: STOP DIGGING UP OLD THREADS TO ADD POINTLESS COMMENTS LIKE THIS TO THEM. You're not going to get a custom title and avatar until you've been here a certain length of time, anyway. And I can reset your post count to zero any time I feel like it.

So STOP gravedigging unless you are going to add usable, constructive information to a thread.
