So I entered a room full of Japanese players on trial mountain 550pp. This is one of my quickest circuits and I was in my quickest car. However, the turn in these guys had on the corners was ridiculous and I simply couldn't keep with them (about 2 secs a lap) I decided to view the next race and from onboard their cars they were so julty and sensitive to the steering input they made. What is it they're doing? It looks so unrealistic when they are playing but it is certainly faster. Is it a tune or is it something to do with their controllers sensitivity, or both?

It's a bit hard to tell with just a description, perhaps you could upload the replay to YouTube or something to give us a better idea? Also, maybe, though I have my doubts, the possibility of using SRF in the room (since we can't just see who's using what aids as in GT5 anymore)?

Were driving aids allowed?

It could be a number of things, from setups (crazy ballast usage), possibly connection (when I watch friends on track from certain views their smooth driving looks extremely jerky), maybe even driving aids.

Without knowing all the factors about the lobby / race settings, driver / car settings etc etc it's difficult to know for sure exactly what it is, it could be a number of things..

What were the times? Tires? Type of cars accepted?
Fastest car was a Shelby convertible thing followed by an 02nsx. They were all different but equally rapid. Any tyres were accepted. I was on racing softs with an 07m3 using someone's tune off here but with added rear spring pressure so the turn in is even more responsive than the initial tune. I was doing mid 1:25s

About 2 secs a lap faster as I said. It was just weird as whenever I go into an English/American lobby I'm competitive

They had all aids off and it wasn't connection as there was an English guy in there who looked smooth

Well, if it serves as any kind of reference, a few laps in my 550PP XKR-S got me a 1:24.099, and it's by no means the fastest car of its class. Perhaps it's simply a matter of car choice. The NSX was one of the top cars for 550PP in GT5, while the '07 M3 was average from what I know, so this probably carried over to GT6. I'll give the M3 a go, see what it can manage.

Edit: Also, I assume you know about the custom wheel glitch? If not, try using the stock wheels instead of the aftermarket ones, if you're not doing so already.

What was the set up you were using on the jaguar? I'll try it.
No, what's the glitch? I'm using standard wheels on the m3 anyway

1:23 on Trial Mountain in an NSX, road or GT version ?

The Shelby one was one of the best Street car in gt2 or 3 in it's category

Well, I managed a 1:23.6 in the '07 M3, but the car is still tricky at the limits.

I honestly was NOT expecting that one.

Asians are just fast. I cannot escape them.

2000 to 2004 remote controlled car racing - nemesis: Rich Chang
2004 to 2008 real life Honda Civic road racing - nemesis: Ed Ho

Asians shall rule the world! Well, at least your world.

Also, Luke, controller like you. 👍

Anyway, Luke, look back at my previous post. 👍
Tried your tune and now half a second down on my tune! Didn't feel yours was tricky, more that it had even less turn in. In the race the original post is about they could simply turn in tighter and thus go round the bend at a higher speed. So frustrating lol.

If it's simply turn in, try 5/20/5 for the diff. And a bit of trail braking with a higher rear brake bais than the front, 5/7 is normally plenty.

Still in the 1:23s. 1:23.051, but still a 23. Some suggestions for the suspension, see what it does for you.

1. Camber, for now, use 0 degrees since for some reason it doesn't work in GT6 and 0 degrees give the most grip. (Unless I'm now extremely out of date and PD have patched this already)
2. -0.20/0.00 for toe angle to help corner entry. Not too sure if it'll directly improve turn in or not, but hey, it gets rid of understeer to some extent so why not if there's no tire wear to factor in.

That's funny you should say that as I put the cambers to 0 just before reading this and went a second quicker. So strange as in kart racing we always run a little camber on the front no matter the conditions. Something I noticed is you said your top speed was 124mph, aren't you losing chunks of time on the straights?

Well, something's gone wrong with the programming, and now camber simply reduces grip the higher it gets.

As for the gearbox… That has to be the most asked question ever when it comes to that method. It'd be impossible to get the car around the track so quickly if I was smacking the limiter at every single straight. The 124mph autoset is simply there to give us a close set of ratios to start with, setting the final gear to the minimum would bring the top speed up to around 170mph. It's a slacker's way of getting a decent gearbox that works for most tracks.

Could this jittery driving be due to connections by any chance? I've seen how that has happened but it's usually more obvious and profound.

Members list (in the lobby menu), has multiple pages to cycle through to check all driving aids. Unless you know that and you mean that it just isn't as easy. Can't tell. :P
