How does the mobile air conditioner work?? It it loud?? does it move a lot of air? At one point I considered purchasing one because of how hot my sim racing room can get.

Its amazing for cooling the room down (the room is a garage that is detached from my house and converted into a recreation room) Depending on which fan speed is activated it is either quiet or a bit loud. TBH I don't notice it any longer but I have had it for three years now. It is no louder than a standard sized box fan if not a bit quieter.

I have central air in my house but because the rec-room is not attached to the house I had to get this mobile ac unit. I'd like to cut a hole in one of my walls and install a proper ac unit that is more powerful but I'm in no hurry.

Yes that FANG game pad was used for a 'sim racing button box' lol never heard it put that way before but the FANG is no longer a part of this rig. I decided it didn't have the full functionality that I needed and so I tossed that and bought a mini keyboard with backlight.
At least they're cheaper than buying one of those mini-touch screen monitors and adding the appropiate program(s) to use it.;) What's the make and model of the mini-keayboard that you brought recently?

I bought this generic Directron mini kb. It cost me $9.99 and works flawlessly.

So yesterday I decided to make a mount for a 24" LCD:

and I installed my dash (which by the way I really do not like but I needed something to get me by while I think up a better design and build it.

As of right now everything is working and I'm happy to at least have a 95% complete cockpit to race in.

Very cool. I was searching craigslist randomly and a lady was selling that same chair for $30. Needles to say I contacted her immediately and drove 2 hours to get it. A few days before I ordered my g27 so the stars are starting to align i guess. Now I just have to figure out how I want to mount the wheel and shifter.

I've been using surround headphones and with the vibration from the chair it's truly an awesome experience, unfortunately my wheel doesn't get here till next week.

Any general tips on the chair?

Lubetek great rig! (nice wallpaper too ;)) that is the thing about DIY rigs, you can evole them, at first it was 4 bits of wood attatched to a gaming chair. Now it's evolving - TV/Monitor mount, Dash... what's next? That's the beauty of a DIY rig, what's next is the next idea that pops into your mind...

Very cool smeace! My only tip is to build something that works well for you. You can see my design and for the most part it was easy to build. Feel free to take any ideas you can from mine if you want...

The chair is awesome for racing as you will find out. Once you get it dialed in you can make the 12 vibe motors rumble with the deep note of an idling engine, running over those red/white corner markers and such...it truly adds to the experience.

I use mine with speaker line splitters so I can plug the chair vibe motors and speakers in plus I have Klipsch Pro media sub and speakers going at the same time and mounted to the cockpit. When everything is going its quite amazing! Enjoy your chair dude!

Thanks UK-Gamer! next up is a speedometer and getting my free trackIR 'type' system up and running with my logitech cam.

Here is a quick video showing the cockpit up and running.
