I've come across it before, but I didn;t know it was rare so I didn't worry about it. I had a look at it though. I wouldn't bother buying it, I'll give you that much.

Altez;
Yeah, that's the one. It is way cool and pretty quik for so little hp. All three of the Mid-engine Tommy's are very cool as well. :D :D :D

Alright, I just found the Subaru 360 again on day 420 and I bought it this time. Man does it suck. Not only is it one of the ugliest little cars in the game, it can't even tuned to get over 150hp. It's an RR car, only costs about $3,000 and is always on the top of the list. Do not bother buying this piece of absolute crap.

I was thinking, what's the point of keeping half these rare cars. Sure, they might be rare, but half of them are the ugliest things out, except for the 22b and the Cappuccino looks pretty cool, but the Toyota 2000GT, '71 Sklyine, Subaru 360 :yuck: all look like **** and perform like **** as well. So what's the point in keeping them, or buying them for that matter.

If you find one you like, sure, buy it. But I just don't see the point in buying something that is the worst thing out simply because it's rare. Half the people here won't know whether you really to have these rare cars or not, you could be bull*****ing them for all they know.

Well, it's fun kicking the snot out of new cars with a 70's car. The AZ-1 is from Mazda, it also comes in two flavors: The Mazdaspeed A-Spec AZ-1, and the regular AZ-1. The A-Spec looks like a miniature Ferrari F40, but provides no extra power compared to the stock one.

The Subaru 360, at 142hp and 861 pounds, is quite nimble. Try beating the other cars in the Compact Car Cup races...you'll be surprised how competitve those races can be. Sure the prizes stink, but it's good racing.

The '97 Skyline GT-R 4-door is kind of rare. I think it's better than the yellow Nismo four-door you win at the Luxury Car event at the High Speed Ring.

I'm not saying you have to buy any of these rare cars. Some people have fun with GT2 and never bother with the Manufacturer's Events. I can understand; about only a third of those races are worth doing.

But there are some nice cars that I would have overlooked. I would have would have passed over the Saxo, the Delta S4, and the Capucino if not for those events. Still, there were others like the SVX and the Midget that I couldn't wait to get rid of.

Rare is great. But, remember this is a racing game and you only have room for 100 cars in the garage. Fast is more important than rarity. When you get a PS2 and GT3 and your garage doubles in size then you can collect rare cars. I use the last 10 spaces in my GT2 garage to stock pile GT40's and Speed 12's won at Red Rock Valley for a quick pick-me-up for my bank account.:D

on day 270 in the nissan used garage. it is a 240sx fastback x. There is one that has the same name as the others but the car is differant you can tell by the rear tail lights I think this is the rarest find in the game.

ACR

The Nissan 240 is not that rare. Even in the Fastback body style. Rare is the Subie 22B, The Mazda AZ=1 A-spec. The Honda Beat, the Suzuki Cap'cino. And you must have them all to complete manufacturers races.
When you find the Cap'cino. Buy 2, You will have to race mod one. When you do its good looks are gone.

That 22b I found heaps in the 200 days, but it hard as all hell :fdevil: to find now

i've already got it :D got it ages ago, i just said that it's hard to find after the 200 days.

mines still got stock horsepower but a race modified body, looks so cool! and by the way, this car rocks!

Dude, Some people collect the obscure cars in GT 2. And the Cap'cino isn't all that pretty to begin with. It looks like the runt from a litter of Miatas... but [R] modded it's is a true Mud-hen. However, it can be fun to beat your non-racing friends with a s***box with only 183 hp. 😈
The second one is so you still have the "cute" one in your garage.
As for the 22B's handling. It's like a good woman. It likes to be handled firmly, but with some degree of finesse.
If you think "finesse" is only a brand of shampoo and conditioner in those blue bottles in your girlfriend's shower...get the Full Limited Slip.
Set your initial 3 (front) 5 (rear)
Accel 20 (front) 30(rear)
Decel 10 (front) 15 (rear).
Don't forget that the 22B is geared to be quick, topping out at about 135 with all mods. Run the "Auto" setting out until 4th gear is about 1.000 or a little below (still in the 0.900's)
From here you can make the car handle well.
Remember the rule of thumb the keep Decel setting about half of Accel setting and Front settings about 60-70% less than Rear for road races.
All bets are off on these settings in dirt.

MugenMan, Welcome to GTP:D
The 22B is a fancy Subaru Impreza. You will find it (if you are X-TREMELY lucky) in the Used Cars at your local GT 2 Subaru dealer.
The AZ-1 belongs in the category GT 2's "stoopid little cars".
It handles OK, But it makes the Tom's Angel look like a land yacht, and it's grossly underpowered.
However if you are after the 100% completion goal, you will need it to complete the Mazda manufactures cup. :(

ACRNeon,
You ar probably right. I only use the coupes because I think they are better looking. (personal preference) Plus the S14 coupe has more HP than the others in the used lot. I use it for the manufacturers cup. The Daishin Silvia is my car of choice for the R-modded portion of the manufacturers cup.

Not to my vast knowledge of GT2, though I was also hoping, as that would make some Rare Car. One in which I would probably use pretty often... Anyways, I have only the '71 Datsun, and the Lotus Europa (If you consider it a rare car - I mean you have to race to get one).

I'm on the prowl for the 2000GT and '83 RX-7.

The lot changes every ten days, and it is random. Like Shannon said, on day 370 he found the 2000GT. Well, when you first start the game there is a 2000GT for 100+K. Im on day 190 and the 2000GT is there, I never bought it. So, you can't say its gonna be there on that day, its random.

I haven't found one yet, and I'm looking for that one also.

Would you consider the Mazada RX-7 Aspec a Rare Car? Or the Four Door Skyline GTR33?

Lancia Stratos would be a rare car. Seeing as how you have to run endurance just to get one, and thats if your get one.
