maybe it's intentional?
Yeah, I think it is. I remember it having a racing number on it and an 'Ecsta' decal on the bumper. Though i'm pretty sure the wheels were slightly different. Definitely the same car though.

[Edit]

I remember seeing a pic of this one, a good few years ago. Diggin the colourway.

the few that may notice, RWB has been pretty skewed from it's original intent. Most new builds aren't even "Rough" and what they are now are basically walking advertisements for the owner's company. The ones who understand where it's at the grassroots. Those are the builds that you know are instant classics.

They used to be mad and a little bit cobbled together, looks wise. Now each build looks like it's trying to chase show wins, not race wins. They've jumped the shark, almost.

Basically the transformation of the owners. In Japan they were made almost exclusively for Idlers events, now with international cars it's extremely rare for one to even go on a track. It's a shame.

Yeah, a lot of them aren't as rough as they once were. Thankfully the guys close to the shop in Chiba still track theirs. I don't think Nakai cares about the show wins.

I'm gunna inject a little salt into this thread.

I watched this video about RWB and I think it's a crock of crap.

The fat dude is going on about how oh this car is tailor made to your needs. It's a "custom-made bespoke suit."

Oh please, they all look the same.

And I cannot for the life of me justify spending thousands of dollars for this guy to come out to what is basically a finished car and add black rattlecan on a brand new paintjob.

Don't get me wrong, it looks sweet, but in the end it's a body kit. It can never be anything more than that.

Search for the videos of the Japanese built cars that participate in time attack and aren't just hard parked like most of the US built cars. It makes a bit more sense.

Also, seeing him work in person is pretty inspiring IMO. Yeah, it's just a bunch of fiberglass and paint, but the way it comes together is special.

Some boys just want what other boys have. They don't see the bigger picture.
