Wait but the model years were a year behind here in the US weren't they? Car's made in 89's were 90's etc.... ?

I believe production began in May or June of 1989, so technically they are '89 models but we know them as 1990's. My personal cars VIN was xxx514 or something close to that, so it was an early model but was a 1990.

So then if someone was looking to avoid the crankshaft problem then would it be wise to look at mid 91's or mid 92's? :)

I've noticed the radio and speakers are still there.

It is my only car right now. I can't take the radio out yet, I would probably kill myself, as my car is pretty annoying to drive daily as it is. I need a beater with a/c and p/s. If I take out the radio and speakers, my car will be more track-worthy than most track-only cars, and as a daily that would just be insanity.

How much lighter is a NB starter?

Can't remember actually, but it's significant. Just bear in mind you'll only be able to use two of the three bolt holes. Done that many times in the past, so it's not a big deal.
