Yeah, imagine all manufacturers of passenger cars pulling out their vehicles form the game because no way on Earth they would allow their models being disintegrated like that..

IMAGINE!

Besides, nobody would use it. It is hardly a addition to spend so much process power and years of work and at the end nobody would use it at the end.

Find me an online lobby with Heavy Damage on. You couldn't? Yeah, I know. Ask yoursef why.

Do you ever race Arcade Races with the Heavy Damage on? You don't? Yeah, I know. Ask yoursef why.

When this was mentioned over at the Project Cars forum they said it wasn't really any use to them, mainly because the cars have to be constructed from scratch so they can deform in this way, you can't just adapt your current models because they're made differently.

So no, this isn't much use for GT unless you want them to build every car from scratch.

If you want to crash your car to pieces, there are demolition derby games for it. Gran Turismo is for running clean races trying to keep your car intact.

Do you struggle keeping your car intact in GT then?

Yes, that is exactly what I meant and said.👎

E. If you are not looking for crashing your car then there's no need to waste recources to create super realistic damage. Get it now genious ?

You spelt genius wrong, genius.

If you didn't open the cars doors in the game it would be a waste of resources to model it.
Think most would agree on that.

Many look to avoid collisions in a race but..... Unlike the door example I gave, collisions do happen.
How would modelling collision damage/ physics be a waste of resources?

You lost me there genius.

Actually, yea, I do race Arcade Races with heavy damage on!
And I also race with a group online that also races with heavy damage on. It makes races somewhat more realistic and helps keeping the races clean without much contact.
So yea, I'd welcome that kind of damage! :)

Kaz said most would turn it off. I guess some just agree with him.

Yes but they could implement body flexing at least.

I wonder why they'd want it off.
People are looking for a simulator when they buy GT5, yet they turn off something that makes it more of a simulator/more realistc.

When given the option, I always race with damage fully on. Always. Doesn't matter the game, it adds a big variable to the gameplay that really makes you not want to be over aggressive and result in a crash or accident. It's a shame people online go ruining it for those who want clean realistic racing with damage fully on. I see this in GT and Forza games, the 'Timmys' as I call them, really screw it up. It's why private races for that is how I normally do it.

It's also a shame people who preach their passion for loving racing sims don't want realism to the level of even having a damage system being on. And I'm not referring to visual damage... the importance of a damage system is the affects to a car's performance after an incident, not what the car looks like. Too many people are tied up into how a car looks after a damage. I really hope that GT6 has damage across all modes and not specific to a few. Give us extra bonus for damage, like every other game out there does..

Just because you find something involving cars doesn't mean you should come on here and say, "OMG PD look at this!!!!". Sorry if I am being offensive and over exaggerating but these kinds of "PD look here" threads are getting annoying.
