I heard last night online that there are some 905hp NASCAR out there. If this is true, can anyone tell me how they managed to get to that horsepower? I'm currently running 892hp in all my NASCAR............ and still running great lap times.... ;) Thanks to all in advance.

Lies. 892 is max.

I was thinking the same thing, however, let me tell you a little story. I was running side by side with another racer Thursday evening and was slowly pulling on him at Daytona. I was running 207 at the time (about the middle of the straight) and told him "I think I might have you". I usually hit 208, I've clicked 209 a few times, in certain NASCAR, by the end of the straight. After I told him "I think I might have you" it was like he kicked it into another gear and pulled a full car length on me by the end of the straight. I run low 43.7's by myself and haven't ever been walked away from like that online. When I heard last night that there were some 905hp NASCAR, well it made me think a bit.

I also found this on gtplanet when I did some research about 905hp. I'm still not fully convinced, but I'd like to hear if anyone has 905hp in their NASCAR.

Hi Nomad !

You can change your oil whenever you want, i changed it when my Nascar was brand new, it gives you some extra HP ( 905 ). In GT5 was a little different, the car was 892hp when you change it in a new car, and gets 905 with some mileage on the car.

I'm going to play with the tranny, and I also think that the 3speed+4 over it's a good idea, i have 2 setups in GT5, one with 3 gears and one with 4.

I did ask the one's who were saying it was possible if they were referring to a bhp vs hp and they stated no it was hp. I hope its not possible, that'd bother the crap out of me knowing that there are NASCAR out there with additional hp. Thanks again.

In relation to this when I was playing offline in the two player mode it showed one of my nascars with 905 hp. i don't know why because when I went back to my garage it said 892

Exactly. All the cars have 892 Imperial HP. Everything else is just conversion.

This is the answer and should end all discussion. 892hp is max, 905 is just a metric conversion of 892hp. I went through this with another user in GT5. He swore up and down his car had 905hp until I had him go look again and it was actually 905cv, which is just a metric conversion of HP. So, to the OP, nothing to worry about, all the NASCAR cars max out at 892hp, nothing more.

its:
1 bhp =1.01387 (metric) HP = 0.7457 kW

so in nascar's case:
892 bhp = 904.37204 (metric) HP = 665.1644 kW

just to cover all 3 powerrelated units, used in GT.

Just an edit:
at least in GT5 it showed sometimes for a short moment the BHPs, so I guess they've been default before converting to kW or (metric) HP.
Think something similar could also happen in GT6

He's french, or french speaker :)
We count power in cv (cheval-vapeur, the meaning is steam-horse, power of a horse compared to a steam machine power), which are PS.

All my old cars setups say HP where it should be PS so I'm faulty aswell :P (Have to update this since a month !)

@Ce BPH have no real convertion in HP, PS or kW because they use a brake to stop the shaft to measure that, so with the technology involved in brakes, 1980's BPH are not the same as 2010's BPH or 1950's BPH. Also, methods vary from constructor to constructor.
kW/HP/PS stayed the same though time and measure the same effect, so I guess that's why the game used that unit instead of the US' popular BHP...

Well...
Don't mess up the britsh BHP (often only HP (1bhp = 33 000 lbf.·ft./min = 550 lbf.·ft./s)) and US-BHP (also called "SAE gross horsepower" (SAE J1349 and SAE J2723 used since 1972, before it was different, that's why the SAE HPs changed in the early 70's)).
Anyway, both end up around 1 bhp = 0.7457 kW nowadays.

Also GT6-BHPs match well with GT6-kWs by calculating with already said relations.
Im playing on a UK-Version displaying BHPs, communicating with many kW-using peoples (mostly germans in that case) - hitting the set (and said) restrictions kinda exactly, matching with my calculated numbers.

Also to add, the german "DIN-PS" (DIN 70200), so called metric HP, is sometimes also just translated as "HorsePower" (from "PferdeStärke"), what can be messed up with britsh HPs very very easy by simple translation fails and the point-of-view thing.
And that's been happening in threadstarter's case - a Nascar got something around 905 cv/PS/metric HP, but 892 (imperial) (B)HP - with the failure both been saying only "HP".

if you set your psn in French it will give you 905 hp
I went for the longuest time with 892 hp and all my friends had 905hp
then someone told me to switch my psn in French and it worked

so even if you set a room at 892hp we can still join with 905 hp

Bro YOU ARE NOT GETTING 906.
Give it a rest already. Yes an ounce and a gram are the same too.Uhm, Rick, being a Canadian also, your in metric.Use your other side of your brain. LOL:cheers:

loll oops not ounce (once)

my point exactly I don't have to drop down to 892 to get in the room
so maybe you need to use your other side of the brain lolll

This is so awesome! I changed my unit of measure and like you said got 905 hp and got into the online rooms with no trouble at all. What I can't figure out is why my lap times didn't go down? You would think that 13 more hp would do something? Leave it to PD programming.

Hami? April fools was yesterday.Read CE's post 3 or 4 back. It explains the different HP KW and other measurements.

This has been discussed way too many times. Different units of measurement.

You do not have 13 more HP, its just a metric conversion as stated. 905 metric HP is the same as 892 American, or whatever you want to call it, HP. Its all the same Hami.

I thought that the smiley would have given away the sarcasm in my post. Thanks for thinking that I am this stupid, Mitch.

Sorry Hami, I wasn't thinking at the time. Of course I know you're not stupid, you were my mentor in the beginning and are one of the main reasons why I know what I know about tuning till this day. 👍 For the record, I was wondering what you were thinking, but I guess it totally went over my head. :dunce: My apologies Keith, I certainly didn't mean anything by it.....you should know better than that.

No worries. It was a weak attempt on my part to be funny.

in gt5 you can only limit hp to 907 so if they have a hacked car they can join with up to 907 hp but this is very unlikely in gt6 as hacking is not widespread
