Hello 80's music lovers! I'm trying to find some classics but there's too many to count. I'm looking for songs sort of like "Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart and synth pop songs.

People that post Rick Astley songs will be ignored.

O_O that's a big list!

I'll look up the soundtrack for GTA VC tomorrow. Thanks.

Sweet Dreams Are Made of This-Eurythmics
Always Something There To Remind Me-Naked Eyes

There is WAYYYYYYYYYYY too much. I'm more of a rock/metal guy though. If I gave you a list, you'd over well over 2,000 songs.

Here's a few though.

Night Ranger - Don't Tell Me You Love Me, Sister Christian
Toto - Hold the Line
Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe
Aldo Nova - Fantasy
Def Leppard - 3 Full Albums, Pyromania, Hysteria, High n' Dry
Iron Maiden - Powerslave/Somewhere in Time full albums

I bow down before thee:

I'm too dumb to embed youtube videos

Of course Blue Monday '84, too.

But yeah, you're right. There's way too much good music from the 80ies :)

Scared of getting Rick Rolled?

Sounds like you're after new wave/pop rock songs, of which nearly defined the 80's biggest hits.

A-ha - Take on me
Flock of Seagulls - I Ran (So Far Away)
Animotion - Obsession
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
Toni Basil - Mickey
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon & Do You Really Want To Hurt Me
Blondie - Call Me & Atomic
Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams
The Human League - Fascination
Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
New Order - Blue Monday
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Rick Astley - Together Forever (yeah, he more hits than just the one).
The Vapors - Turning Japanese
Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World
Tommy Tutone - 867-5309/Jenny

Lots more. On the rock side of things, bands such as Depeche Mode, The Police, Men At Work, The Cars, Cheap Trick, INXS, Billy Idol, & Doran Doran had a lot of popular songs in this era.

Here's some additional playlists I made in order to find extra songs to play in GTA Vice City. They're based on the original stations in the game but have different songs, just to give me some variety while I play. Some were produced in the late 70s, but I'd still consider it all 80s music.

Emotion 98.3 (Power Ballads and slower songs)
Fever 105 (Funk, Post-Disco)
Flash FM (Pop, some New Wave)
V-Rock (Glam Rock, Metal)
Wave 103 (New Wave, Synthpop)

And of course, Vice City's original soundtrack contains plenty of good 80s music, as does Vice City Stories.

Here's a few extras that didn't make the cut for the playlists:

Did someone say.... '80s?

Yes, I read OP. This is the first thing I think of when I hear "'80s music".

I'd say check out bands like:

Split Enz "I Got You", "One Step Ahead", "I See Red" and "Dirty Creature"
The Kings "Switchin to Glide\This Beat Goes On"...
The Cars first album is a must have...
Live at Budokan by Cheap Trick
"Ah Leah" by Donnie Iris
"Mercury Blues" by David Lindlay
"Abacab" and "Keep it Dark" by Genesis
"Love Stinks" by J. Geils Band
"Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh
"My Sharona" by The Knack

The list is endless...

Have a good one

The Cult's Love and Sonic Temple albums, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Pat Benatar, etc.

Surprised no one has mentioned Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms. It's an excellent album from end to end. In fact, I'm listening to this album right now. :)

Another good '80s album would be Boston - Third Stage. That one gets lots of play when I'm in charge of choosing music as well! Those two albums I could recommend in their entirety, so I'd give those a shot.

Some other '80s albums I have and enjoy, listed alphabetically:

Autograph - Sign in Please
Billy Joel - Storm Front
Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA
Georgia Satellites - Georgia Satellites
Guns 'N Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Huey Lewis & the News - Sports
The Police - Synchronicity
Quiet Riot - Metal Health & Condition Critical
Slade - Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply
Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever
The Travelling Wilburys - Vol. 1
Van Halen - 1984 & 5150
ZZ Top - Eliminator and Afterburner

Hope this helps! 👍
