Does this happen to anyone else?

remeber back in the days of gt1 when the recoed lap times were saved for each track and stayed there when you came back? Why don't this happen in gt2? in gt2 for example i start a race and turn a hot lap, finish the race, and then run the same race again. the lap time from the previous race is gone. is there an option that lets you save your lap times? compared to gt1, gt2 is pathetic in terms of tuning options and features.

i'm pretty in the dark about gaming news as i'm not a big gamer (i own 3 games, thps2, gt1, and gt2) so excuse what might be a stupid question, but :

will there be another version of gt for ps1 or is development and hype for ps2 making the 1st generation console less supported by polyphony? i don't think i'm alone here in wanting to see either gt3 ported to ps (minus some performance which is inevitable) or at least more ps1 games with the gran turismo heritge. i'd love to see a culmination of gt1 and gt2 with maybe some new tracks and cars, some bugs fixed, and possibly a built in gamesharkesque-like hybrid creator. Why not? most of the code is already written it just needs to be put together. i wish i had the time to really sit down and reverse engineer the raw data and "remix" a gt1/gt2 hybrid game (i did something similar with ridge racer by inserting my own remixed audio tracks and tweaking some parameters with a hex editor to "adjust" performance on some vehicles)

anyways, peace out
