That was a great track. It was where I set up most of my cars. It would great to see it get a nice make over & make a come back.

I just ran this track today since I was playing GT2. I'd love for it to come back so I can play it on GT6 (or a later game if it doesn't come back to GT6).

This may be one of the few times I'll comment in this sub-forum, but this one's worth it.

Yes, it's an arcadey track, no, it isn't all that elaborate, but when I had to grind way back when, and there were better races to grind with, I usually just ran like an idiot in the Sunday Cup event at RRVS.

Sadly, after looking through the game, it only host four, yes four, set events. Obviously you may have had more due to one make races, but even in GT2 it was underutilized.

Lastly, I think this would make an incredible track IRL. F1, NASCAR, Sports Cars? Yes Please.

Honestly, ALL the classic GT tracks and locations should return in GT7.
Personally, I was expecting all the classic original locations and layouts from GTs of the past to return in GT6 in HD (being the 15th anniversary game). Too bad it wasn't the case.

Hopefully PD will respond to the fans and bring some or all the classic tracks of GT1, GT2, and GT3 back for GT7. Wouldn't mind running tracks like Red Rock Valley, Complex String, Midfield, and SSR11 again.

This track was a great one to test cars and race your friends when they were forced to come over to race you. It was fun to get two cars that were close in stats. It was also fun to see your friend spin out on the last hair pin turn before the straight. It was also a big track kinda like high speed ring. I loved this track for the excitement of seeing how fast I could get my car to go. If it were to make a return, I would love it. If it doesn't, then at least its nice to remember this track.

Something appeared in my head today about this track...

If Special Stage Routes are clearly somewhere in Japan, maybe Tokyo, what places RRVS would fit? It looks like it is located near a desert (not so sure)..

With a background that mixes the high desert mountains to one side with a city on the other, Red Rock looks like it could be a fictional track inspired by the Southwest United States (likely North of Phoenix, Arizona or outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico). Also the name could be given the clue to the location, as many of the high deserts in the Southwest US have a hardened claystone which give a reddish-orange tint at sunset (like those found over near Moab, Utah).

I inserted "Red Rock Valley" on Google Earth and it took me to an area near Las Vegas. I think that it is somewhere near Las Vegas, it doesnt make much sense being on the middle of nowhere, but near some big city center with some tourism appeal makes more sense to me.

I searched for it too, and found 2 locations actually named Red Rock Valley, both in the western US:
1) 40mi north of Reno, Nevada near the California/Nevada Border.
2) 2mi south of the town of Red Valley, Arizona on the Arizona/New Mexico Border.
Neither location matches the design of the track in GT2, as they are in the middle of nowhere.

As for what you found, I got that too. However it was the Red Rock Casino/Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I do agree though that a race track would have to be nearby a big city. Of the big cities located near the high desert, high plains, or dry mountain regions of the US, the possible locations for Red Rock Valley Speedway would be near the following cities:
Las Vegas, Nevada
Reno, Nevada
Phoenix, Arizona
Tucson, Arizona
Flagstaff, Arizona
Pueblo, Colorado
Denver, Colorado
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Amarillo, Texas

An awesome, well rounded track. I like to run Red Rock to test my set ups
.. a little map of the track from my old archive ...

Controlling THAT car with a controller! Wow!

Then again... Hybrid....

Ty and yes indeed, I always like to say up front if any of my cars are hybrided. It was a lot of work balancing the car out, after the mods, for the controller driving style.

An excellent version of Red Rock Valley by @Mr Grumpy and collaborators can be played in GT6! It uses a lot of modifying of the Track Path Editor and the raw data to create banking, elevation and even a tunnel.

There is a Time Trial for 1000bhp+ LMPs in my club, open until the end of 2016. Racing Soft tyres and 720pp limit: a couple of diesel LMPs can get over 1200bhp and would run away with this, without a pp limit.

Bumping this.

Yes, I would love to see RRVS return! The beautiful sunset and scenery alone and the fact it's a very "speed-oriented" track make it great :D

And I wonder if anyone could one day remake it in GT3 at least? Would be amazing speeding around in. Just have to mod my PS2 and make a patched ISO if someone was to make it. :P

(Speaking of which I'm surprised nobody has attempted to make a "what would GT2000 look like if complete" mod, as in, as it was originally planned an extension of GT2)
