Bunta Fujiwara inspired Coupe WRX touge tune

Torque Distribution:
30F - 60R
30/60 distribution? Where'd the last 10% of torque go?
And I was only able to get 374 horses with a sports exhaust, with a fully overhauled and broken in Impreza.

Oops I made a couple mistakes on this :scared: it should be 30 / 70, i've fixed it now, and it should have the sports exhaust. Sorry for that.

I dont see many people use this car online and i'm not sure why, I only know of one person who uses it reguarly. This car is definitely under rated as it's a great car to drive and pretty quick too!

Car: Toyota MR2 G-LIMITED '97
Colour: Dark Purple Mica

Specs:
Max Power - 259BHP / 8100rpm
Max Torque - 25kgfm / 6600rpm

The Tune:

Suspension:
-11F Ride Height -3R
9.2F Spring Rate 13.2R
4F Dampers Extension 6R
5F Dampers Compression 6R
3F Anti-Roll Bars 4R

2.1F Camber Angle (-) 2.3R
0.03F Toe Angle 0.15R

5F Brake Balance 5R

This car is nicely balanced and easy to drive responds well to quick direction change, once the tyres heat up it may tend to understeer slightly in mid speed corners (65mph - 80mph)but the car has enough power to enduce a drift if needed.
I set up all my tunes like this as I find a car that has slight understeer is easier to drive under pressure than a car that tends to have slight oversteer.

Dont let the low power of this car fool you into thinking its slow, it's very capable of setting fast lap times and keeping up with higher power cars. This car is great to drive, it handles like its on rails, you can point it into a turn and keep the power on, it has minimal understeer and minimal oversteer.
I would definitely recomend this car for a beginer to touge.

Hey Maccer & fellow Redsuns team members,

I didn't know that you already had posted up the your tunes Maccer :)👍 (excuse me for being late about it, lol). I'm curious if they're good with wheels?

Hey badboy, I got a few more tunes on the way just need to get pics and stuff 👍

And im not sure how they will handle with a wheel, as I tune with a DS3 :indiff: which has limited steering and throttle position my tunes might feel abit slack and un responsive with a wheel, the naturaly better handling and balanced cars such as the Spirit R FD, and the MR-S might be ok with a wheel.

Would be great if you could give some feeback on how the handle with a wheel 👍

When I first started with this car it would snap into oversteer very quickly mid corner so my main goal with this tune was to try and tame the oversteer with a better balance while still keeping it responsive and fun to drive.

Best of luck from Pac :)

What another Keisuke tune?
Didn't I already do one?
Well yes but this time i'm using the actual correct model of his car, and I kind of wish I hadn't, I had hopes of this car being able to come close to the performance of the Spirit R but once I started to tune and drive it I soon realised that was never going to happen.

This was one of the toughest cars i've tryed to setup to date, I had alot of problems with mid-corner oversteer and trouble keeping it balanced through cambered or banked corners. It's still not a perfect setup and with my driving the car has a kind of numb feeling to it, I couldn't get a setup that made me feel conected where the car would respond to my every comand. But with that said this setup is still fairly decent, it drives smooth and you can get the power down early on most corners without too much oversteer drama.

My one piece of advice with this car would be to stay away from banked / cambered corners.

EDIT: Slight change to the setup and now has a different parts list, it's improved abit I feel although the Spirit R still out performs this car by a large margin.

Here's a little review for this car:
Reason for getting the tune:
Well, I had just entered the LoTS Initial D Challenge, and rolled this car, which I actually had in my garage. So, I started looking for a tune, because I can't tune for life. SK botched up a quick tune for me, and I was astounded, because the car was just oversteering all over the place and the tires went flat pretty quickly under my driving style. But then I found this tune, and well, here's the result.....

4TH IN THE CHALLENGE!

That's right, only thanks to this tune I was able to compete at the level of the Pros (even beating SK himself once) and get that spot.

The Good
This car is SO stable, only putting the rear out if you slam the gas out of the corner, but otherwise it is pure GRIP. Even when you damage the front, you can easily damage the other side and race on like normal. And also, the car has good acceleration out of the corner and a good top end.

The Bad
By the time tires wear out, which is usually the 6th or 7th lap of Songai Shinro (a popular track in LoTS), you can't pressure the throttle that much anymore, being forced to take more cautious lines and whenever you press the gas too much, the rear slides. Although, that is probably my heavy foot talking. I bet you, Maccer, can get the car to save the tires more.

The Ugly
The fact that when you get rear damage, it's over for this car. Again, I believe it's my the problem of my driving style.

Overall,
I believe this is a great tune to stabilize the wildness of this car, and I am going to give this car a well-deserved

5/5

Thanks so much for my first review :D

I did plan to try and release a tune for every Initial D car before the season started but I didn't have enough time, I will continue to release each car and eventualy complete the whole line up.

I'm glad you liked the setup and it helped you get a good result in the season 👍 gives me motivation to keep making tunes and improving my knowledge of tuning in general.
I'll be the first to admit im not the greatest tuner for GT5, especialy with the way tuning works in the game you just have to throw logic out the window (Some may dissagre) But I am a fairly decent driver, by far no means the best of the best so i'm just trying to translate what I do as a driver into how I setup my cars, and if it helps other people then thats always a bonus :D

My main objective for this car was just to give it a good balance, I know it wouldn't be the quickest 480PP car, it just unfortunatly doesn't have the grip needed too and nothing could fix that, no matter how great of a tune its running.

But I knew once I got this car in a balanced state where it wouldn't slide out unpredictably it would be a fun car to drive and be a good competitor for the mid tier cars in the 480pp range.

About the tyre wear I always strugle with that myself, it's one thing I havnt learned how to tune out while still keeping the setup balanced overall.

You could try running the setup with 0 toe front and rear as I often read toe is a big tyre wear cause.

But in my opnion its just a trade off, run with 0 toe and have less grip in the corner you spend more time wheelspining and corecting a slide wearing out the tyres.
Run with toe on front and rear for better grip in the corner but the tyres will scrub on the straight aways giving you wear on the tyres. :indiff:

Well I finally updated the op (atleast tried too). I am having trouble getting the link to work right, so bare with me.

I want to thank maccer for posting so many great tunes! I gotta start trying them! I want to start uploading mine because I have had many hours perfecting mine. Also I want to thank pac for his two tunes!

You guys are getting some good tunes out there, keep up the good work!
I thought some of y'all might be interested in a touge TIME-ATTACK and Tournament that I'll be hosting this Sunday. You all are welcome to try your hand at this...details are in my tuning thread, link is in my signature.

Happy Driving!

Two of my tunes have been updated to deal with the physics change from update 2.06, I will eventually get round to updating all my tunes, and hopefully adding more, I did have a bunch ready to release but then Polyphony Digital went and changed the physics on me!

Builders Summary:

With the recent release of Initial D Fifth Stage and the updated GT5 patch physics I felt it was time I built a tribute FC in honour of Ryosuke Takahashi's updated FC.
With this setup you should find the car has a nice balance and is easy to drive at the limit, with a slight tendancy to understeer while on throttle through mid speed corners in 3rd and 4th gear.
With this car being light weight it is very responsive and nimble at low speeds.
It has enough power to pull through all gears smoothly and with this LSD and suspension combination you can you balance it on a low angle drift with carefull throttle modulation.
