Regional differences?

I know that the intros and soundtracks are different in every version, but I would just like to know if there are any cars that were excluded from the NTSC-U and PAL versions. Anything else is fine, as well!

Thank you all!:sly:

Wasn't the CLK Racecar able to be purchased in the Japanese Version? Or was that the Diablo in GT3? I'm sorry, my memory is fuzzy, just did 4 hours of math homework :dunce:.

Yes you are right, I was just going to check at Gamefaqs to make sure. The CLK Race Car is accesible if you use the 'buy any car code', because I just found the file on the laptop after you posted. So I didn't need to leave the site, and thanks for the response. And if I recall, the Nissan 240sx was available on the NTSC version, while the 200sx was on the PAL and japanese versions.

Vauxhall and Opel were both available in the PAL version. All you had to do was set the language to any other than English, and Opel would appear instead of Vauxhall.

If I recall correctly, PAL area had only v1.2 disks available. Meaning no garage thief and no Martin's #6 (RM'ed Ford Taurus) for PAL.

With hybrids, the max speed limits involves the value 650 or so. In NTSC version and PAL-english it's expressed in Mph, while in Italian ones it's in kph. So, you can actually go 1.61 times faster in the American version than you can with an Italian savegame, for example.

European version was released sometime after the first American ones, so there are less glitches, I think, apart from bad translation ones.

I'm sure I've had the NASCAR Taurus on my game. I've never experienced 'Garage Thief'. How does this come about?

There are still glitches aplenty in my version, like the troubles with false descriptions and dodgy issues tuning BMWs and the duff information with the NA/Turbo Cups.

The garage thief is only in the NTSC V1 and V1.1 discs. Basically there are 8 max speed slots in the memory. Once you use those 8 slots, don't do anymore machine testing. If you do, the game (thinks there's 10 slots) will write the times into the memory. However it doesn't recognize its overwriting garage data. And because data required for the garage is overwritten with invalid values, either your cars disappear or appear in the garage listing as No Name No Name and aren't accessible.

However, sometimes it doesn't do either of the two, it just immobilizes and makes your Calsonic Skyline (first car in garage) have 20,000 hp or weigh -5 pounds. :grumpy:

Do all versions really have the same cars? I noticed the Altezza AS200 is in some GameFAQs lists but not in PAL, small detail but makes me wonder.

The Altezza IS200?

Positive that's in PAL. Not sure if other cars are/aren't in the game like the extra cars in NTSC-J GT1. Wasn't the CLK-GTR an early omission?

I think he means the RS200. No, GT2 doesn't have the CLK-GTR, they just showed the car going around Tahiti Road, the interview also mentioned drag-racing in it :grumpy:. I can put the audio file in an attachment, but I don't have a video of the interview from the Playstation Underground disc. Kaz planned to only have 400 cars, if he just did that there would've been drag-racing. There is the hidden CLK Race Car in the game, needing a gameshark to access it. However it looks more like the DTM machine.

No, not the RS200, not the IS200, but the Altezza AS200, upon which the Lexus IS200 is based, and which is supposed to have a 2.0L V6. It's listed as in Japanese and US versions of the game, but not PAL. Sounds like you guys have never seen the AS200, though, so many that's just a mistake in the GameFAQs lists.

I have never saw that car, that's why I thought you meant the RS200. Can you get a screenshot of the car?

It most likely is a mistake in the GFaq's list, as there is no AS200 in any GT2.

I'll add my own trivia: The GT-One in GT2 had different versions, PAL had the ESSO versions, NTSC had the EXXON versions. You can use a cheat device to get them both, they still work the same.

Well, PAL and NTSC-J versions had the Nissan 200sx, while North America had the 240sx:

Well at least in your region you don't lose cars after doing machine tests. I had to know how fast the Speed 12 could go. :grumpy: Don't get me started mister. :grumpy:

Yes! You remember, that bug happened to me before I learned that.

Does the Vector show up in the Trial Mountain Endurance in the PAL version like it does in the first 2 NTSC U/C Versions (1.0 and 1.1)?
