Well i've been holed up in the library the last 3 days craming before finals so I felt like doing a really nice fun race. So I chose my favorite car/track combo, Tommy Kaira ZZII at Midfield. Now I equiped my stock ZZII(tuned to my specs of course) with T2's and entered a Professional Aracde race at Midfield with 570HP.

So i start out in 6th of course behind a GT-One, Oreca Viper, R390, Vetigo, and GT40 in that order. Green light drops and we all gun it. I draft off the GT-one into the first turn. Of course the other racers brake way late and go wide and I made a nice turn and i cut inside using the rumble strip and move into 3rd, passing the GT-One, Viper, and vertigo. Going into the sharp right i cut inside the GT40 and move into 2nd. The R390 goes wide and into the dirt so I gain first into the 180. Heading into the sharp left I brake at an odd angle and have to keep the car from getting too squierrly and the GT-One and R390 both cut inside me and pass me. Going into the Straight I am mere feet behind both of them and drafting since i know they will beat me on the straight. My first lap finishes with me in 3rd going a 1:15.021.

Lap 2 starts with little change until the sharp right after T1. The R390 goes off into the dirt again and i pass him again into the 180. At T2 I am about 1.5 seconds behind the GT-One. Again I brake at an odd angle and again the R390 passes me on the final turn. This time he hits the dirt though and i pass him back going onto the straight away in 2nd. I finsh lap 2 in 2nd with a 1:07.132.

Lap 3 starts with some dirty tricks by the R390. He's been drafting me the whole straight and now when i brake into turn 1 he gives me a nudge making me brake and throwing my line off. He takes the inside moving back into 2nd. I follow right behind him until the sharp left. The GT-One hits the dirt and so now all 3 of us are neck and neck. I drift the 180 well enough to make a drifter proud coming out in a 3 wide row with the R390 and GT-One. They both go slightly wide into the sharp left and i wouldve nailed it had I not nailed them instead. I push between them and come out in 2nd behind the GT-One and we enter the final straight where the GT-One pits. At the end of lap 3 I am 1st going a 1:08.947 and .221 ahead of the R390.

The R390 passes me at the end of the straight but I nail the turn and come out back in front. At T1 I am a mere .094 ahead with him making a move to pass me. Again he goes wide and im beginning to wonder where he learned to drive at. I keep my lead for the rest of the lap and finish Lap 4 in 1st with a 1:07.751, 1.9 second ahead of the R390.

Lap 5 is very uneventful with me maintaining my lead and i decide to pit since im fairly confident the R390 will and i want this to be competitive. So I pit in 1st on lap 5 going a 1:21.384 and see a dot coming up hard on the map.

Lap 6 starts out with the GT-One flying by me right out of the pit. At T1 i was 1.4 behind him. Again he hit the dirt on the sharp right and again i passed him into the 180. On the sharp left he cut into my line and forced me into the dirt so I dropped back into 2nd. I was expecting him to pit but he didnt and so I finished lap 6 in 2nd with a 1:12.441, .224 behind him.

Lap 7 starts off poorly for me. I overshoot my braking point and slide into the dirt and just manage to save myself from spinning out, allowing the R390 to pull back within 4 seconds of me. At T1 I am 2.697 behind the GT-One. On the dirt turn he bites it again and I catch back up but dont pass him this time. On the 180 I do pass him and going into T2 I am 1.7 ahead. I finish this lap in 1st with a 1:10.255. The GT-One pits putting me well ahead of the R390 who's in second.

Lap 8 is very uneventful and I want a close race so since im 4.7 ahead of the R390 I intentionally hit the ebrake on the last turn allowing him to pass me. So now after lap 8 I am in 2nd, .6 behind the R390 and going a 1:13.976.

On turn 1 of lap 9 i hit the brakes a bit late and my tail slides throught he dirt a little allowing the R390 to pull ahead slightly. At T1 I am 1.99 seconds behind him. Of course on the dirt turn he hits the dirt and I catch right back up on his tail into the 180. I take the inside on the 180 and pass him exiting the turn. At T2 I am .3 ahead of him. At the sharp left he cuts inside me and takes 1st again. He messes up the chicane and i pull up alongside him and inch my way past him. I finish lap 9 .086 ahead of him with a 1:08.497.

Last lap and I am fairly confident I can win this race. Turn 1 we come out the same we went in with me slightly ahead. As im sure you've guessed by now the R390 bites it into the dirt again and I pull away. At T2 I am 3.5 ahead of him. I hold my position until the finish with a rather anticlimatic finish I think. I went a 1:07.417 on the last lap and win by 4.3 seconds.

I was kinda dissapointed with the finish. After duking it out for 7 laps I had to mess up intentionally to keep it close and then even that didnt make it too close. I tested this combo out before I did this race and after 3 laps I was 4 seconds behind the R390 so I figured this would be a good race. But it was an enjoyable 7 laps so it wasnt all bad.

I enjoyed your write-up over lunch today:tup: Thanks for taking the time to do it. Made me want to go home and take a round or two:lol:

I know what you mean by being somewhat disappointed with the finish after having tested to make sure you would have a good race. Not your fault though... You tried... AI lied! Without running the whole race in testing (which would totally defeat the point anyway), there is simply no accounting for the stupidity of AI and in this case, what else ya gonna do? I appreciate that you tried to make it competitive!
