At my day job I am a data analyst and I actually love my job. So while there is some down time I decided to run some analysis on the remote races to find out how random or predictable they are. I've run about 50 races and put the results in a database to analyse. First thing I found was some interesting stats on cars that win. I thought folks on this forum would find them interesting.
The google spreadsheet results this one is here;
it's publicly viewable. Some interesting things I found so far;
-The Mercedes C9 wins all the time in Circuit De la Sarthe
-The Shelby Cobra in Laguna Seca does pretty well
- The Corvette Coup sucks in Laguna Seca
- The Lotus Europa Special in Nurburgring does well but four races may not be enough to tell definitively
- W12 in SS Route 5 is 4 first for 4 races
- Same for NSX Type R '02 in Tokyo R246
Besides cars I want to see if driver level makes a difference as well. Do certain races favor skill or randomness. That's my next step in the analysis, besides getting more races (and money, and XP).
