Well I finally got my race seat mounted last weekend and oh my gosh! I spent most of Saturday and all of Sunday using my new racing rig from Timpaq's plans and actualy lowered my times by about half a second a lap on any given track! Still outside the top 100 by about 2-3 seconds but not because of the rig, I'm just not that good. My last rig, which I threw together in about 15 minutes in my garage would wobble around all the time and was effecting my concentration more than I realized. I recomend to anybody that has the time and resources to build this rig! it's awesome! It's almost like playing for the first time again. Just incredible Timpaq!👍

P.S. If anyone else decides to do this build then please give your feedback.

Well that's more positive feedback I expected.. :D 👍 Still awaiting those pictures though ;)

I'm also going to build one tomorrow, actually it's going to my mate but will post some pics from the building phase tomorrow evening or on Sunday the latest. The painting will need to be done on another time though.

Looks to have come along very nicely. Nice work! Looks like you have taken the time and care to do a proper job. How much does it weigh?

Looks like a Lotus Elise seat?

Thanks mate  It's nice to see the seat getting the use it fully deserves :) Was a waste to keep it standing in a storage 👍

I've been watching this project from the beginning and it's great to see a (somewhat) finished product.
It's good to see it without the paint as we get to see the mechanics of it a bit better.

Really great planning Timo and an equally great setup.

Thanks Kenny

There are little minor flaws that I will need to fix still. Only noticed yesterday as we were testing the rig a little more. Just monor details nothing big luckily.

It looks great. I just got a seat, so I am deciding if I am building a dedicated sim, or something I can easily store.
I did notice one safety thing you might address. Those too bolts that stick inward between the seat base and pedals might need reversed, or cut to length. I always seem to gouge myself on protruding things like that.

Great idea!
Wanted to get the plans but by clicking Ur link it says that im "trying to edit someone else post" and "need administrator privileges" - weird...

I very much like the gf-friendly option ;)
Got 3 x 22" monitors hooked up and need to build sth for it because the desk im using now is rubbish... cant get rid of back pain for nice couple of months...
but need to build something that could also be used as standard workstation as my girl often gets bored with netbook and uses my pc when im still at work - shes back right after lunchtime... (lucky one)

would be great if i could have a look on that material list and plans - got few days of work now due to weather so could get on with it :D (or at least start to collect materials)

Thanks

Hello Timppaq.

Awesome buildingplans you have put toghether and the rig looks fantastic!:)
I`m new to steeringwheels, allways perfered the pad, but got to try a g25 again now for the time trial and suddenly I`m starting to feel comfy with it.
Have desided to buy me a g25 and was planning to build me a simple rig, and then I came by your plans.
At first it seemed a bit too complicated but as I look at it, I realise it isn`t that complicated after all.
I would really like to build one, but I`m a bit curious what happened to the "lighter material version" you where talking about earlier?
Can`t seem to find a plan for this?

Awesome driving by the way! I`ve chased your ghost for a "few" laps on the time trial now but I can`t keep up at all! It`s probably because I`ve got no rig yet right?

:: Plans here ::

1st post updated too...

Wow...erm...that looks just like the pieces of scrap paper I wrote useless measures in with markers that were considered the "plans" of my ruined-to-fit-G27 TV table. Vey Impressive Timp, congratulations and good luck building it 👍.

Ok, I`m builing the "heavy" one hopefully next week.
Need to collect the materiels though.
I was playing this evening and I have to say it`s pretty boring to have the pedals, the table and the chair sliding around all the time. Especially if you`re on to a good lap:tdown:
I`ve decided to use my Recaro racing seat from my Porsche 937 (924 carrera gt) for the rig.
The car is not in use this time of year anyway so why not.
Hopefully this rig will shave about 2 sec of my laptimes in the time trial so I can see you in the finals:lol:
Well, I guess I need a bit more practice aswell.
Doing better in shift though:)

I looking to also build a custom rig although my will not be as complicated as this one. However, I looking for a racing seat to give me that racing feeling. Does anyone have any idea as where I could get one from. They are very expensive and hence want to keep the price down as much as possible.
