It could also be said that the whole fascination with e-sports in general has faded considerably in recent years now that the barrier of entry has raised so far that they're basically the same as any other professional sport, where only the privileged few who can make a career of it and attract a sponsor to pay their way are going to have any chance of real success. Without the ability to organically grow a top level playerbase they're not going to get much traction in the e-sports market, as the existing top level players in other games aren't going to leave the one they've been training in for years to start over in an unknown quantity.I think this is proving what many suspected, that a sizeable chunk of the sim racing community simply don’t care about esports.
