Renown Tuning ™ NFS Shift Tuning Guide/Tutorial

Sorry, guys. You won't see any further updates until Wednesday; I've got a test to study for that's happening tomorrow and Tuesday.

Toe In and Toe Out

Toe In = Provides better stright line stability, but sacrifies the responsiveness.

Toe out = Provides better responsiveness, but sacrifies the stright line stability.

I've been having a rough week with all types of problems, so, the latest I'll be able to get back to this is next week.

I've run into a bit of a snag, but I guarantee an update for the weekend. :D

If (and as of recent events that is a sizable "if") everything goes uninterrupted from the day I post the update, the guide itself will be at least 50-75% done by sometime next week.

EDIT: No. Better yet, I'll post what I've been working on in a little bit and the full update will still be posted during the weekend.

Here's a sample of the upcoming update...

Tires

Tires are unequivocally the single most important factor in vehicle performance. Why, you ask? The tires are the only static medium between the road surface and the car itself. let's start with something really simple, Shall we?

When looking at this ask yourself which of the two paths provides the better result. if you think the inside line is faster, well, let me be the first to tell you "No!'. Now, go to your room, and slap yourself upside the head with the world book. I'm kidding. it's perfectly fine if you thought the shortest distance would give the better result, i mean, the distance is shorter...right? Yes, it most certainly is. however, because the distance is shorter around the corner, it's going to require more steering input, which translates to tire scrubbing, which translates to a loss of speed due to said tire scrubbing. that small tip is an important factor to being fast, winning races and setting fast lap times - take the line that requires the least amount of steering input.

This section of the guide and tutorial will perhaps be the most comprehensive, and possibly the longest considering the tires play such a vital role in a vehicles behavioral patterns. Everything, and I will say that again, Everything is relayed through the tires. this will probably be the section that will be read the most and is the most likely to be either taken for granted, or equally misunderstood.

- Just a sample. The rest comes during the weekend. :P

Yes. I'll edit out the first post and place it there, I'll also provide a downloadable version that will differ in only a few ways.

Are you going to post the full guide? I hust got this game for ps3 and am saving up for a wheel. It would be cool to learn about the tuning as the tuning is a little complicated in this game.

Unfortunately, no.

I lost all the work I did on the project when I had to reinstall XP several hundred-million times.

I'm always around for help though.
