Alright L4S, I'll be looking forward to adding your name. 👍

X-Othermic,
I've added your name.
Welcome aboard.

Just like everyone else, this isn't a thread to commit to racing clean all the time or turning in replay for every last one of your laps.

Rather, this is just a way to say "hey, I can prove my times if I need to."

So I'm glad to see you've signed up.
Hopefully I will catch you around in the world of OLR.

Until next time,
-

My first attempt at attaching a file here. Hope it works (fingers crossed)

Great, welcome to the group.

Updating the list to show your name right now.

Also, just like with everyone else, I will re-iterate the idea...

This isn't a pledge to post replays for all of your laps and races, nor is it a pledge to race clean all the time.
Instead, this is a thread intended to give you credit for being able to prove your times.

Being a "r.s.r." gives you a sort of status that says "I can prove my times if I need to."

To other replay supported racers it might be enough to simply see that you have a replay transfer device.

Once competition gets heavy that status probably will not help much.

However, in friendly, care-free racing where replay verification isn't a necessity you will find that being known to support times with replays is a great way to ease the minds of other competitors and participate without being accused of cheating. 👍

It's also a great way to build trust between yourself and other members. 👍

So,
Until next time,

Because I like seeing my name in lists, here's a couple replays I found on my memory card. I don't obsessively save all my replays, but I picked out a gold S16 license test and an old hotlap replay from WRS7, featuring an almost-500HP R31 Skyline at Motegi East.

OK, I'll join this as well. Something else for my signature...

Here's a replay of what I thought was a perfect run down the Vegas drag strip.

Laters!

Crackhoor,
Holzlondon,
Could you both tell me if you are using PAL or NTSC?
I would appreciate it greatly. 👍

After that is taken care of I will put both of you down as replay supported racers. :D
Until then,
-Kent

Bit later than planned but I found an old reply I already had saved.

Sorry for the delay. I'm using PAL, as I'm in "Olde Europe":sly:

In case you need to know from me as well, I'm on the PAL version as well.

Hi all,
just got my maxdrive 2 days ago and have some replays of topspeed. However, I dont have any software that can convert it to a valid movie file so I can watch it (AVI,MPG,WMV,ect.). Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes you do. The software is GT4... :D

Replay files are not replay videos. They are file information that GT4 uses to reconstruct the replay. So you need to record the replay playing on your PS2. Check out daan's signature - specifically the link titled "How to make videos".

I dont have the time nor the money to do something like that

Then your stuck with watching them on your TV in GT4. Theres no PC software that can convert the data in that file into a movie. The problem is that that file isn't a movie file at all, replays arn't saved as a recorded replay, they're saved as numbers and calculations ect, what happens is when you accelerate the replay file records that x car accelerates to x speed ect, then when you select view replay, the game decodes than info and actualy replicates your race, rather than actually letting you watch your race. Hope I've put that in a way people can understand.

Well, if someone is feeling REALLLLLLLLLLLY nice, they could take the max file and put it on their card and then make a video out of it.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE

I would if I could, but I'm in the same boat as you. Theres other members who might if they're feeling generous enough.

Ok then, if anyone if feeling really nice they could take those .max file and copy them to their maxdrive watch the replay andrecord it. im not asking for som fancy editing, just a video:)

quick question, is the maxdrive thing compatible with Mac OSX? if it is, ill have to go pick one up.....if not, well.......

would like to show my replays in ways other than recording the feed with a camera........

Yeah, to my eMac it's just a USB stick, and I take the file it gives me and put it up on this site, or do whatever. There's just not going to be a program on your computer that'll read it, which is the case for PC guys as well. I don't know why the Maxdrive comes with a PC disc... All I did was do the PS2 stuff and then plug in the maxdrive stick. 👍

sign me up for the RSR. Great idea!

I want to join. Thus, I ordered a MaxDrive at 50% discount at play.com for a mere £9.99 today. Now I can join the WRS too. I can even backup all races to my computer and create a huge categorized database. Oh, the Joy!
