1:1 gets you the most vertical-sized photo. Or you could rotate the camera while using 16:9. Whatever works. At least that's what I use

Is photo editing allowed? Like can I do some touch-ups or could I go crazy and make it all "fanciful" and whatnot?

Second, any particular dimensions for vertical? Most of my pictures are taken 16:9 and a couple vertical shots are just the same dimensions... Are those what you want or anything specific?
