rich kids

The man who owns the aston martin/lotus/mercedes/volvo dealership that I work at has a son who has a trust fund that pays him 2 million dollars a week. His family owns the land on the port of houston. The owner has 2 cars, a beat up early 90s volve wagon, and a 72 chevy truck that he had painted orange and white, for UT. Whenever he goes to dealer meetings and all, he borrows one of the dealership's SL55s or something of the sort. His son drives a new Tahoe. Not all insanely filthy rich people drive expensive cars. If their whole family pulled all their assets together, they would come up with something in the range of 1.5-2 billion dollars

i know just what you are talking about, the guy who my dad drives for owns Task Management Industries and is worth a **** load of money but he drives either an Izuzu Trooper, 94 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel, or a mid 90s E class diesel. granted he does own a old Kurtis Kraft roadster and vintage midget, plus a Mercedes SL covertible, like the one with the gull wing doors from the 60s. and he funds some people in racing too.

i just had an incident with one of these rich kids last night at the races. now this kid and his brother have had soo much money thrown at them by their father who expects them to be the next jeff gordon or tony stewart that i could live VERY well for the rest of my life on their funds. now the younger of the two brothers was there racing last night, mind you he is 16 but has probly been racing for the majority of his life, the kid is fast qualifying with a 15.038 when the fast qualifiers are usually in the 14.8-14.9s. but in the first heat race he started in the back and throughout the race he repeatedly attempted to try passes that were not even possible and bumping into others and knocking some of them out of the way to get to the front. he did not even finish the heat for he was disqualified for the 2 spinout rule, mind you both of the spins were on his own. then in the feature he repeadily tryed bonzai moves bumping into other guys and 'forcing' his way through the field, then he got into 4th and spun the car into the infield again on his own and kept on the gas trying to get the car turned back around and keep on going without having to restart at the tail, while doing this little stunt he nearly hit 2 camera guys, 1 official, and a couple people on the safety crew, he threw debrie all over the pace hitting people standing on the outside of the fence in the pits who were watching the race, i was one of them. then he went on to ***** at the official he nearly ran over for they would not let him restart for that was his first spin of the race. some of the members standing next to me even went so far as to say the throttle stuck and thats why it happened, but i heard him reving the engine and if it did stick he should have shut it down after he spun. i now have no respect for this kid at all, and now have even less respect for his family and there crew. though his older brother is a great driver but this kid, younger brother, has no common sense.

You should give capital letters a chance, my eyes hurt after reading your post.

first off it you didn't beat the hell outta your car then you might be able to buy something else.

I've paid for all my cars with my own money. yes I'm wealthy cause I work a lot and save my money.

Not all rich kids are bad. That's just stupid to think that. Sure, most of them may get more expensive things, but that's how their life style goes. And most people that are rich WORK FOR IT.

I can see why you're frustarated, but calm down. Don't criticize the wealthy because of the misfortunes in your life. If you lived in North Korea it'd be a different story. This is America, and if you're rich, you're rich. If you're not, you're not. If you don't like how you live, fix it. Welcome to life and Democracy. We make our own choices.

Drifter, you've gotten some good advice here. If you keep the same attiude, you're gonna wind up a nasty, bitter old man before you even know it. The world doesn't owe you a thing, we make our own way in life.

i drive like a man. i take risks most of you wouldn't, but i bet you ANYTHING these risks ive taken have made me a much better driver. i also know the limits of my car MUCH better. you probly don't even drive your blazer. you just commute with it, wax it, and wash it. try and take some carzy chances. it will make you a better driver.i don't beat the hell out of my car. i drive it:cool: not pamper it. read the Racer Mentality "drive like a man" in the July 03 Sport Compact Car.

btw do you guys think the best race car drivers started off by driving totally safe? or do you think that they started off trying to go as fast as they could and trying to find the limits of there cars and the only way to really find the limits of a car is to push it past them.

Why would he want to DRIVE the blazer anyway. Its a blazer, not an NSX. Some cars can be driven like race cars well depending on driver skill, but that doesnt mean its intelligent. I drove my explorer fast thru turns and tested its limits, and never broke them. I drove like a 'man' i suppose....but that doesnt mean that my car is awesome, or that im all that smart either.

where the hell did you it makes you smarter? don't you think ud drive better once you know yours and your cars limits?

Look, you started this Post venting your frustrations. That's fine, then you got feedback trying to get you to change your views and you respond by defending your actions and saying you do things "like a man" as if the rest of us (men) don't.
Case in point; Racing is all about pushing limits, sure. But the last thing a racer with half a brain wants to do is hurt themselves or especially SOMEONE ELSE! That kid could have seriously hurt a lot of people at the track that day just because things weren't going his way.
You're not breaking any hearts here, you just have a lot of growing up to do.

You don't beat the hell out of your car?:odd:

Its been throgh speed bumps at 50+mph, bout 3 pretty bad wreaks, tons of e-brake turns, redlined in every gear but 5th, a few preatty fast j turns (felt like it was going flip!), and running top speed(115mph) for maybe 15+ min. stright (always gets a burning smell after that), oh there also MANY trash cans, and front lawns its been through too, and theres the one time I wreaked in a under ground parking lot at a mall and dicthed the car there

Coulda fooled me!

You're not driving like a man. You're driving like the average 17 year old male who just got a car, and a license to drive. Driving recklessly on public roads does not make you a better driver. If anything, it makes you a worse driver. "Crazy chances," and taking risks should be saved for a track. I drove stupid(speeding mostly) probably like my first week of driving the S2000, then I realized it wasn't worth it. I autocrossed it a bit, and even drove around a few real tracks, and I still wouldn't call myself a good driver. I could probably out drive a lot of people my age, but that still doesn't make me a great driver - just better than average, I guess.

Anyways, just be careful, and try not to kill yourself doing crazy crap. Try not to kill anyone else, either.

 yeah i know i have alot of growing up to do im only 17:lol: and i don't want to grow up:D so im gonna keep getting off track and saying things that don't make sense or you don't agree with. besides its the young that make differances because they take big chances:P

even the huge dumb risks i take are helping drive and learn. do you know how to do a front end alinement or change an a-arm? do you know if your car take speed bumps at high speed? i can't aford to pay for track day, and theres VERY few auto crosses. btw EVERYONE thinks there an above average driver.

just because people drive BMW's or SUV's with 24 inch rims or whatever doesn;t mean theyre rich....I mean If I wanted to I could go out and spend every single paycheck making a 400 a month payment on some gas eating superfast car and clothes but that doesnt make them rich...

If you are saving all of your money how can you only get a kia? I'd rather eat ramen for 3 years than drive a kia.....you just gotta save your money more wisely....I mean my firend works at a job that only pays like 7 bucks an hr and he can afford a 99 3000GT and he buys his own clothes and food and gas and insurance....and he only works like 20 hrs a week.....so maybee your not trying hard enough.....

one more thing

 pushing a KIA to it's limits  that would make me fall asleep......ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz J/K man......

maybee once your older you'll realize that pushing a car to its limits is fun but not the best thing for relaibility or saving money on gas.....I mean I know its fun and all but eventually youll figure it out.....or till you have your first wreck.....that will teach you real quick....it taught me....well I admit sometimes it is fun to floor it especially when you are with your friends but over all its not a good Idea...

So if you're gonna keep driving like an idiot, quit whining about tickets, towing, gas & parts!
That's how you started this thread in the first place.

I rebuilt the motor in my Trans Am less than a month ago. I changed the drive axles on it, installed a new clutch, installed a new tach, installed new struts/shocks, and replaced all of the gaskets while I had the motor out. Here in about two months I'll be installing an ARE Stage 2 heads/cam package by myself. I'll also be throwing in upgraded fuel components, a new 200-250hp NX wet kit, and all the nitrous safety components necessary to keep my motor in one piece this time around.:banghead: I've never replaced an a arm on any of my own cars, but I had to assist my friend twice while replacing them on his Beretta.

Do I know if my car will take speed bumps at high speed? Depends. Some speed bumps wouldn't really do much other than make my car shake pretty hard when I hit 'em at 50-60mph, but there are some speed "bumps" at places like College campuses that would send my ass flying 40 yards, and rip the front end of my car to hell.

Yes, I'm sure everyone does, but not everyone has track/racing experience. Even if I'm not above average, I couldn't care less. At least I'm semi-responsible, and not purposely endangering anyone's lives when I drive.

but im never in my life going make a car payment. thats why i can only aford a kia. its a good car:P i bet your friend has to make a carpayment each month to b able drive that 99 3000gt. besides me in a car any faster then what got man.......

They suck! Even at like 10mph the front end of my car can smack the concrete on a few. It always makes me angry seeing kids in they're lifted off-road trucks flying through them. Sometimes their trucks get completely off the ground a few inches.:irked:

Yeah, I like to think of myself as semi-responsible.;) I don't drive like a complete idiot, but I also don't drive like my mom, or grandma would. That would be boring. If I drove like them I would want a... Kia. Just kidding man, just kidding.:P
