Rider Gear? How About Driver Gear?

I am just curious. Exactly what would a TVR pit crew look like. I mean for some reason I always imagine them wearing a kind of iridescent purple/gold suit. Im I even close to TVR's corporate colors?

Since GT makers are determined to have crowds around the track. How about having them much more random features and style of clothing. Maybe even some famous faces every now and then, actors, real race drivers, sports stars etc. Just something to make things more interesting after driving around a track to many times to count etc. Maybe even some fans that consider you their number one driver and always appear at you races.

For Online races, I think they could have race banners that change. Especially on major events, they allready have mentioned that future GT cars not realeased yet might ocasionally appear.

What Earth posted could be possible. Only NASCAR titles I have for PC are NASCAR Racing (1994), NASCAR Racing 2 (1996), NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition, and NASCAR Revolution (which I have not played, but I heard was pretty bad). I think it would be interesting to own certain racing suits for certain cars. Your team will likely have the same colors. If sponsorship comes into play, it would be great to pocket some extra money by simply showing off your sponsors as well as your colors. The thing to remember that your outfit won't be fully showcased all the time. At least it would be interesting to be in your outfit from head to toe.

If something like this develops, I'd love to also see respective features for female racers as well. Think about "Live for Speed" for a moment. The different race team models have the same livery around it, but different body types are available including that of female racers. Imagine being your own Danica Patrick, Katherine Legge, Claudia Hurtgen (she still racing?), Yanina Ickx, or any other past or present lady racer in GT. I think it's something I'd like to see if such a driver customization deal comes to form.

I'm not saying PD should come up with all this Driver Gear focus, but it would be interesting if it were featured. Some just think PD has more to worry about besides this. I just think this would be an nice package when you're not racing. The ability to make something yours in a game leads to great satisfaction. Especially when you can make your dream objects. I love the prospect of making my own virtual team in Gran Turismo. I envision painting cars in my own team colors including my own outfits. It's just making my own cars MY own cars. My own progress into my own race team. It would be another nice distraction much like when GT4 introduced Photo Mode. Just sweetens the experience a bit more.

I for one am hoping for the ability to customize a pitcrew and driver. (Unimaginative Stig costume, here I come) I got pretty happy when I saw the pit screens for Prologue. If there is one thing Iwould like PD to implement it would be accurate racing and pit crew garb for the motorsport vehicles. For some reason the Xanvi Nismo scene just seemed wrong when I looked closer. How much gear was available in Tourist Trophy anyway?

I usually have two different racing gear combinations in Tourist Trophy. One is for my blue colors, while the other is red. I have that "The Doctor" outfit for my blue colors. I'd like to get that Tourist Trophy outfit for my red colors. In addition, there were some street clothes. You can be a guy who wears some cool threads when riding on your motorcycle.

--- Casual Driver Gear ---
I'd probably pick up on the possibility of some street clothes to wear when you just want to do a casual drive. My style would be more like a polo shirt or a light button-down shirt paired with some good jeans and my Skechers sneakers. I'd still like a helmet and gloves to wear, of course. Maybe even a racing jacket bearing my team colors.

For ladies, it can depend on what some of you lady GT gamers may want to wear. Feminine figures would usually dress up in a regular T-shirt and some jeans or even shorts. Maybe even a skirt or a dress. Footwear while driving may range from sneakers to actual driving boots and driving shoes. Nothing in the way of any chic shoes and such. Dressy sandals and such aren't usually good for competitive racing (unless you saw a very old episode of "X-Play" when Morgan Webb took on Tina Wood... as Morgan wore some nice sandals). Some ladies wear some cropped pants when out around the paddock. Could also make a good pair of pants for female racers in casual clothing. If PD wanted to have fun with this, then imagine having a lady racer with the top down on a convertible and let her hair fly into the wind.

It's something PD can have fun with if they're able to try to get this down. And as far as maybe capturing a picture of your face, I hope it extends into skin and such. Take me, for example. I'm Black (not trying to have any racist tones). It would be weird if my face were truthfully captured, but still have light skin elsewhere with my GT character. The notion of capturing the eyes and nose is true because if you look at some texture files for driver models in games, you'll notice the driver's eyes and nose when you look deep into the faceshield of most driver helmets. The GTR series of games had a female driver piloting a Morgan Aero 8. You could actually note how her eyes and face looked. Uniquely feminine. The driver representing the 24 Hour lineup of cars in GTR for the Morgan is Paula Cook, by the way. I'm more than willing to add an extra dimension to this deal.

In Live For Speed, you're car paintjobs and helmet paintjobs are automatically downloaded by other people when you play with them, and their paintjobs are automatically downloaded by you. It'd be nice if GT5 did this for Helmets at least.

It'd have to do that, otherwise the other cars and outfits would all look standard to you. Forza 2 does it when your racing online, it stores all the other players lieries into your 360's temporary memory. If it didn't then their cars would all look standard.

I think if PD doesn't have time or simply doesn't want to include some of the advanced ideas found in this thread there is something really easy they could do to give us a form of customization over our driver's suit and helmet.

They could simply let us change the hue.

So instead of driving that generic red ferrari fire suit in your yellow ferrari you can change the hue of the fire suit to yellow. Same thing with the helmet.

All this requires is 3 'sliders' from 0-255 of 3 colors, red blue and yellow.

This process should be great with online play because it would require very little to zero downloading of the other player's driver suit color. The game would simply tell other games to display this guy's suit at

Red: 0
Blue:0
Yellow: 255

For white put all the colors to 255. For black put them all to 0. Or mix

If they included that simple feature I would be extremely happy. The new PS3 game Warhawk features the exact same thing for online play. In fact, that's where I got my idea for this from.
