I have no idea  I was stationery, the car to my right moved off, I stayed where I was and the false start notice came up after the lights went out and my throttle wouldn't work until you guys were half way round turn 1. Wouldn't have changed the result though I wasn't doing very well in the VW in either race with it today. I was only just over a tenth off your fastest lap but not consistent enough with it :(
I need to employ a new fuel strategist, first race under fuelled me on the last stint and no amount of lift and coast was going to pull back 2 laps of fuel. Then in the second they fill me up at the first stop

The bribe I gave your fuel guy worked then :sly: I think you need to get some lessons from Mr.Eco ( @danbojte) about that sort of driving

@Ridox2JZGTE & @Thorin Cain No reason to apologize friends...it's not your fault. I was just so mad. You have no idea. Usually I don't actually get mad because of things like this, a game, but my blood was boiling. This is now twice that this has happened to me - and it's the last two times I've tried racing. At first I thought maybe it was because I was the only American connected, but that wasn't true. @DaBomm4 was in that racing room too. I freakin' stayed up all night again just to make sure I would be there at race time...I spent hours setting up 2 vehicles, trying to figure out the stable point of ABS=0 (brake balance), and running practice laps. All to "race" for a total of about 30 seconds? Give me a freakin' break... I wanted to throw my PS3 out the window. I'm glad, at least, that everyone else was having fun. I just couldn't justify staying on the track if I couldn't actually race...So, I left. Hopefully I will have better luck next week.

I know it can be extremely frustrating. I've been racing online since before GT5's release, mostly on Moto Gp games and it's always been the same story, even then. I've seen people in front of me go off into gravel traps and spin out, only to re-appear right in front of me about 100-200 yards down the road from where they went off more times than I care to remember. It's even worse when it costs you places or ends up with you being knocked off the track while doing nothing wrong.

I've always found it is worse if the car in front makes a small mistake and gets a bit of a wiggle or a slide on. You see what your PS3 translates from the data it gets sent, so a small skid and one that is caught quickly sometimes looks like a bigger accident until the data is refreshed. By then you think, oh he's gone I can use this line, oh wait WTF :ouch:.

That actually happened with @Ridox2JZGTE in the Wangan battle afterwards. On my screen he had a major crash while leading and the rest of us passed him, only to find out a little later that he hadn't really crashed at all and had won the race by 23 seconds . You should have seen my face right after the timer showed me 9 seconds in the lead :D and the race finish timer came up just after I came out the tunnel :grumpy:

Anyway, I hope you have better luck next week :) I don't want to be hearing stories about a guy knocking out some poor old lady by launching his Playstation out the window :sly:

@ALB123
Man, don't give up so easy. A lot of things can happen in a race. Anything is happening you should continue. You never leave a race, only if your car become unusable and even then, you have to park it in a safe area and not leave the race while you already are part of it. I also lost my car's control once. :)

Next week will be better, the room quality will be higher and should be smoother :)

My 1st lap was 4:44s and 2nd lap 4:33s, for a total race time of 9:18s :) Looks like very low quality room + Veyron is not a good combo, the car may be too fast and our connection to each other was struggling to begin with.

I saw the replay, and I was in lead the whole time, saw @danbojte crashed/spun on the high speed esses in 1st lap.

I sure hope so!! It certainly can't get any worse for me... I didn't hear anyone else say that your car was hoping around, so it's gotta just be me. Oh, the same with Thorin-Cain's car...Nobody else responded that his car was dancing all over the place. I figured the best thing for me to do is get the hell out of everybody's way before I start causing crashes. :grumpy:

I was noticing a little jumping from most of the cars every once in a while, but it wasn't as extreme as you make it sound, so I don't know. On the second race, @Thorin Cain's car did jump at me on my second to last lap, causing me to get all so gently bumped into the grass, but he was going to be passing me by the next corner anyways, and it seemed like lag, so I brushed the dust off and finished the race. :)

@Ridox2JZGTE when you do replica and there is data sheet as that car& driver, telling redline rpm, do you use that value to match on GT6 top rpm (cut off rpm) or just graphical rpm redline on GT6?
Like that 8100 rpm what spoken once, is not redline, but cut off rpm(on some cars redline is both), car tuning options show cut off rpm's. Just thinking head on pillow :)

The redline often a few hundreds lower than the actual rev cut off ( fuel cut ), so depending on the data availability, and whether I can achieve the power/torque while still maintaining proper revlimit. Often I have to make sacrifice ( slightly higher revlimit / fuel cut ). Shifting earlier or at actual revlimit is preferable. Sometimes cars with different wheel size, I have to calculate as well the top speed at revlimit from real life test and match that in GT6, often changing the final ( custom )

Report #1179
:banghead: :grumpy: Sorry folks, I have to make an announcement :

During the last week event, the BMW 1M that I drove has accel LSD at 24 :( I just drove the car again, and found out the LSD accel was not 30. Sorry guys, just want to come clean  I must have forgotten to double check the LSD after I changed oil and restore rigidity, and I used the wrong tab on the tune sheet.

And just had a look at suspension, :banghead: I changed the camber and toe too on the tab, apparently it was the tab for experimentation purpose

Sport Auto Super Test Measured Alignment ( 1M press car provided by BMW )
F R
Camber : 1.6 1.3
Toe : 0.27 0.17

 The alignment is way off than the rules, please kill me :P

EDIT : I will also update the 1M again, the alignment base value is a bit off than the 1M factory specs :) the replica uses a test car stock alignment from Eibach.

Important quote to all Club members:

"FAIR PLAY

The Essence Of Fair Play

What is fair play?

Fair play is a complex notion that comprises and embodies a number of values that are fundamental not only to sport but also to everyday life.

Respect, friendship, team spirit, fair competition, sport without doping, respect for written and unwritten rules such as equality, integrity, solidarity, tolerance, care, excellence and joy, are the building blocks of fair play that can be experienced and learnt both on and off the field.

Respect

For every athlete, playing by the written rules is mandatory. Respecting the unwritten ones is a must. Fair play requires unconditional respect for opponents, fellow players, referees and fans.

Friendship

Rivalry on the field does not exclude friendship. On the contrary. Friendship could grow from noble rivalries.

Team spirit

Individuals can be strong on their own but they are much stronger in a team. Victory achieved alone can be sweet but there is nothing sweeter than sharing that moment with your team.

Fair competition

To enjoy the fruits of success it is not enough to win. Triumph must be scored by absolutely fair means and by honest and just play.

Sport without doping

Someone who takes drugs cheats. Someone who cheats ruins the game. Someone who ruins the game cannot be played with.

Equality

Competing on equal terms is essential in sport. Otherwise performance cannot be measured properly.

Integrity

Being honest and having strong moral principles are essential to fair play. Practicing sport within a sound ethical framework is vitally important if you aim to be a true champion.

Solidarity

It is important to support each other and share feelings, aims and dreams. Mutual support brings mutual success on and off the field.

Tolerance

The willingness to accept behaviour or decisions you may not agree with develops your self-control. Ultimately that could be the deciding factor when it comes to winning or losing.

Care

True champions care about each other as they are well aware they could not be where they are without being cared for by others.

Excellence

Sport engages us in a collective effort to pursue human excellence.

Joy

Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the father of the modern Olympic Games said: ’The important thing in life is not the triumph, but the fight; the essential thing is not to have won, but to have fought well.’ Competition can be severe but you should always first look for joy when practicing any sports. You should never forget about the play even in the heat of the fight.

Without fairness and trustworthiness the established order of our society is at risk. If we do not play by the rules, we ruin the spirit of the game and it is impossible to play with destroyers of the game.

Fair play, which is an essential and central part of successful involvement, promotion and development in both sport and life, can teach people tolerance and respect for others. It allows them to integrate into society and create a sense of teamwork. Fair play in sport is capable of giving hope, pride and identity, and it is able to unite where nationalities, politics, religions and cultures often divide.

Cooperation in the spirit of fair play delivers even greater results than pure gamesmanship in all walks of life. It plays a key role, the role of a catalyst in today’s society as a means of improving quality of life and human well-being.

Fair play for champions of sport

There is no sport without fair play and there are no champions either.

’It takes more than crossing the line first to make a champion. A champion is more than a winner. A champion is someone who respects the rules, rejects doping and competes in the spirit of fair play.’ Jacques Rogge, IOC President

’Fair play gives sport the character of beauty. Fair play is a common language, the cement of sports that is capable of gathering together the whole sports world. There are many champions, but the champion of champions is the one who trains, competes and lives in the spirit of fair play.’ Jenő Kamuti, President of the International Committee for Fair Play

’Fair play incorporates the concepts of friendship, respect for others and always playing within the right spirit. Fair play is defined as a way of thinking, not just a way of behaving.’ Code of Sport Ethics, Council of Europe

’The important thing in life is not the triumph, but the fight; the essential thing is not to have won, but to have fought well.’ Baron Pierre de Coubertin.

Fair play for champions of everyday life

’Neither by nature, then, nor contrary to nature do the virtues arise in us; rather we are adapted by nature to receive them, and are made perfect by habit.’ Aristotle, Nichomachean Ethics

’The notion of fair play is a universally understood concept, which underpins all of sport. Without fairness, sport is devoid of any meaning or purpose. Worse still, it can be a detrimental experience for its participants.

But fair play is also a philosophy - one of respect for others, and respect for the institution of sport. It leads to an agreement, between all of those involved in sport, on the values and lessons that we want sport to teach our children and ourselves.

Playing fair also has to do with making choices. As we interact with each other in sport, or as spectators of sport, we must regularly consider and define what we think is right and what is not. Sport engages us in a collective effort to pursue human excellence. As our children interact with each other in sport, their ability to make good choices about fair play issues matures along with their ability to think and learn about what makes for a rewarding and fulfilling life in society.’ Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport

’Fair play is a positive concept. Sport is a social and cultural activity which, practiced fairly, enriches society and the friendship between nations. Sport is also recognized as an individual activity which, played fairly, offers the opportunity for self-knowledge, self-expression and fulfillment; personal achievement, skill acquisition and demonstration of ability; social interaction, enjoyment, good health and well-being. Sport promotes involvement and responsibility in society with its wide range of clubs and leaders working voluntarily. In addition, responsible involvement in some activities can help to promote sensitivity to the environment.’ Code of Sports Ethics, Council of Europe

Values for life

Fair play is not a theory. Fair play is an attitude that manifests itself in behaviour. Whenever we act in the spirit of fair play we contribute to building a peaceful and better world. The following values which are the building blocks of fair play can easily be expressed in the interactions of everyday life.

  • Respect
  • Friendship
  • Team spirit
  • Fair competition
  • Respect for written and unwritten rules
  • Equality
  • Integrity
  • Solidarity
  • Tolerance
  • Care
  • Joy"
- International Fair Play Committee

I was thinking of putting it in my sig. :)

That was a deep message :) @danbojte , the Nissan 370Z is not the NISMO, I tested both 1M and 370Z Touring ( base ) at Big Willow, they are very close at 1:29s, the NISMO probably a bit faster than the 1M and Hyundai Genesis.

Will test all of them at Grand Valley on my next play, may also add another car, the Spoon S2000 ( will need power adjustment as it's capable of 1:04s at Tsukuba, while the trio are slower )
