I don't know if the patch makes much difference considering the specifics of this event as I don't believe there are any significant changes to the on-line play included in this first update.

But Mario, maybe you should consider putting a car list together--at least for rounds 1 and 2, so people can make sure they have them purchased and ready to go.

If this is a problem, car for Round 1 will either be one of the available at the start of the game (Zonda, Enzo, DBR9R), or one of the cheapest - unlocked from the start - that you can buy.

I am, myself, well behind schedule concerning SCC, having almost no "gaming time" these last few days. So, I will probably be eliminated in the first round. But my previous experience tells me I get more fun in the organizing duty than in the participation of the event, so ... no worries ;)

Congratulations Sarrinen! Winner of the first Supercar Challenge ROC event.

 Jeff, I guess the current champion (Zedux) and vice-champion (PiotrB) - if they enter this one - will give Sarrinen a hard time to get to that position.

Sarrinen, you were a notable absence in the FC Edition of ROC, good to have you in this one, I won't say, like Jeff, that you will be the next champion, but you sure are a strong candidate to that honour. 👍

So , with Sarrinen, we now have the magical number achieved (10). I hope many more still join.

Provisional list:

1. GTP_Hun
2. jjaisli
3. Shaggy_Alonso
4. GTP_Blitz187
5. mhm66
6. Alang184
7. danjama
8. Vincent_Vice
9. TheBig1
10. Sarrinen69

What's up guys!
I see you are doing a nice little tournament out here, so I was thinking if you are planning on running a special "all star" or "warm up" race with the cars and tracks that are available in BETA , I'll be more then happy to take part in such event (depending of course on my availability on given date).
cheers

Hey Mr Geez! We aren't exactly doing it yet, but it would be a nice idea to run an "inaugural/celebrational event" the week before the ROC Event starts and open to beta owners. 👍

I think I could revive my old event setup, making it a "one-night event" with several races.

Stay tuned

Meanwhile, mr geez, get yourself the full game so you can enter the ROC Event. Poland would be even more represented, and from my personal experience racing you and Piotr, it would be a formidable racing force to deal with! ;)

Hi guys, so i have been working all weekend, and unfortunately my local game shops didn't have SCC in stock over the weekend :/ BUT i've ordered it in and it should arrive by Wednesday latest, maybe earlier. I'm quite excited about getting involved again :)

Can't wait to try the new cars!

But Mario, maybe you should consider putting a car list together--at least for rounds 1 and 2, so people can make sure they have them purchased and ready to go.

As we found out last night (apologies to those who were already aware of this) every car and every track is available ONLINE to race, even if you can't use them off line until you've unlocked and purchased them, so this shouldn't be an issue. :)

Hi there, Hun, you can count me in, i will, for sure, need some practice, but i can get used to it...

cheers

Man I'm gonna get my arse kicked for sure. My fastest lap at Spa so far is a 2:15 in the DBR9, only 9 seconds off Sarrinen's record. And that's with my most familiar car, in the most familiar circuit (in this game anyway)

Oh well, at least if im not competitive then it'll be quite stress free and I can simply focus on having fun :dunce:

Event thread created. I ask all interested to apply there!

Shaggy, no worries, "stress-free" is my middle name also, between "slow" and "motion"

Like your signature, madbigdog!

Don't forget, however, to apply in the event thread, checking first the rules set for it.

Same goes to:

Shaggy_Alonso
TheBig1
danjama
Sarrinen69
AlanG184

Meanwhile, this thread is now useless and can be confusing, so I ask all interested in SCC ROC to post whatever questions and suggestions (and to apply for it, of course), in the Event thread, not here.

I can't lock my own threads, so if any mod reads this and finds it appropriate to lock, please do it. :)

HI Mario & everyone else, i would like to join this & the ROC event but i've been injoying NFS SHIFT more than i did with SCC, I may get this back if there is a protest from all of you if you want me to get back SCC, So i may expect a long list of people protesting.

So have great racing guys & i may join in future, hopefully before March release of GT5

All the best

Hi Jason,

OK, how's this...

I'm enjoying Shift as well. I've started to knock it a lot, for reasons which are clear when you read my complaints about it, but it is certainly 'fun'. And unlike Mario, I won't 'Shelve' it.

But while you're playing Shift, your finely honed Ferrari Challenge driving skills are being displaced with arcade style reactions that would throw cars driven with a 'proper' physics engine off the track. (Just ask Biggles. Well, it could be IL2--what do mean you were TRYING to roll the car???). Before long, you're going to be like any n00b who plays FC for the first time after six months of Grid and can't figure out why hitting the brakes are necessary. Just imagine the embarrassment Jason. "Hey, did that guy try to ram me?" "Naahhh, that's just Energiya--he was one of the faster guys, back in the day, but he's been playing Shift for a few months and just came back to SuperC....". "Nevermind, I understand." And in the meantime, there's a lot of 12 year olds playing Supercar Challenge who are smashing your 'record' laps to pieces and asking, who's this Engergiya dude, why is he so slow and how come he set some of these times with all assists on?

:D

All in good fun Jason. And that's what it's about. If you're enjoying Shift, stick with it. Seriously. March is a long way off. And who knows, I hate to even think it, but GT5 may NOT be what everybody is hoping or expecting. We'll answer the door if you come back home. :)

I did injoy SCC jjaisli & i understand what your saying but in SCC is not a real challenge online since if sameone picks the DBR9 everyone drives the DBR9, but in NFS you can drive anything in that restriction range, Just imagine driving a porsche & your trying to beat a lambo or a viper etc, i find it more a challenge.

I will go back to SCC soon & i will still have my speed. This is me your talking about, been playing racing games since 97 when GT was released on PS1

If you still have NFS shift, let me know so we can do same racing. If Mario still has it, maybe he can create an NFS event.

I look forward to racing you again soon & i will get SCC back or i might turn into a snail driver. lol

:D

I call that an A-Bomb of psychological warfare clearly forbidden by the ... Geneva Convention !!!

It's a real shame to hear the Zonda and Koenigsegg are "porked", they were probably the 2 cars i was looking most forward. Long time no see it may seem, but i'm always lurking and reading :D

JJ tells me the 550M has actually been improved for SCC....much less of a pig. That's a shame :P

Upon retrying the Zonda, I take everything back. I don't know why I hated it so much. It's a hard car to drive for sure, but it's not impossible like the Macca which I still find utterly ridiculous to drive, no matter how many times I come back to it hoping that i'll have changed my mind 👎 This game is a strange one in that your opinion of it could vary wildly depending on which cars you've driven. Point in case - after giving the Macca another chance for several laps around Nurburgring, I still thought it was disgusting but then when I tried the Zonda, it felt like a dream in comparison. Then I bought the Ferrari 333 SP and it stuck to the track like a magnet, very easy to drive and I'm assuming it is the fastest car in the game as it was a Le Mans prototype. Then after being treated to so much grip, I went back to the Zonda and before long I was spinning around like I was at the disco. It felt very different and I had to double check that the driver assists hadn't been altered since I last drove it - which they hadn't it was all just in my mind, adjusting to the wildly different handling characteristics of different cars within the same game. I don't remember GT5P being challenging in this way at all.

Perhaps before I drive anything, I should always take the Macca for a 'spin' beforehand so that each car I drive after will feel amazing in comparison 💡

My hope is that I will also warm to the Koenigsegg in the same way I have to the Zonda.

hmmmm, why do you want to know who the bird is in my avatar

Just curious because she's beautiful and i've never seen her before. I suppose you're now going to tell me she's your sister or something and i'll have to take flight from this forum for a while.

Well, when I switched back to FC after playing Shift for a while the thing that struck me most was how heavy the FFB was (this was on Medium setting). Even though Shift has much more "active" FFB than GT5P, it is very light in feeling.

For the first three or four laps I couldn't keep the car on the track, but then I got the old feeling back. 👍 It makes me realize how odd FC must have felt to GT5Pers first trying it. The difference is, FC & SCC have a consistent, progressive feel to the physics & FFB, while Shift feels great up to the point when the hidden "assists" kick in & it starts to become much more arcade in the way the cars respond.

Yes she is beautiful & she is not my sister ( Wish she was, DAMN ).

Her name is NATHALIE KELLEY & if you watched the movie " The fast and the furious Tokyo drift, you would see her.

BTW, hands off. lol
