Tomorrow.... Long sprints at Goodwood. G4. If we have a bunch we can discuss a longer race

Thanks for allowing me to join your room last night Ned, what a wonderful evening. The Gr4 group of cars run well at Goodwood, over the last few days I've been testing all groups from N100 to Gr1 you just have to adjust your approach each time to the race.

Thanks again Ned great nights entertainment.

At least it is still a Ring :scared: just a mini Ring :D:D

Now as to Sunday....

how about the great little Japanese circuit...that seems to have been forgotten by us. We will start with N100s

The last Sunday race this month will be at La Sarth

We will be doing a 2.4 hour race using the IRS rules and regs and adding our two special rules 1. there will be a 5 minute driver change simulation pit stop of 5 minutes. 2. all of our normal rules apply including that if you cause an accident that forces another driver to pit to fix damage you must follow him to the pits and perform a full pull stop. Upon leaving the pits you must stop and let the driver you" had off" pass you and get approximately 5 seconds ahead of you.

Livery rules will be relaxed, but no stock liveries.
We plan one room but will run more if required. This will be on the last Sunday this month at 1330 Central US.
The start will be staggered and in file.

Classes tentatively LMP2 and G4

Please post here with car class and type.

Would it be ok if i ran my Ford GT LM Spec II test car which is a Gr.3 car or do i need to pick a GR.4 car to run for Sunday Afternoon?

Go to IRS thread to see what cars are allowed. Classes are G3, Lmp2, and LMP1. Normally we run G4 and G3 on the Ring but for this event which is a mirror of the IRS race we run their settings. GREAT to see you !!!!!

I would like to run my 2.4HR car which would be the Ford GT LM Spec II car. For the 5 minute pit rule, does that mean just pitting in getting fuel, tires and switching tire compounds for the race which i am sure it is less than 5 in the pits in the game itself or just running RH tires the entire race in the VLN series? Since there is no tuning, would i need to buy a separate Ford GT or be able to use the one i tuned for the 2.4HR race?

yes to the GT.
as to pit stop: enter the pits TOUCH NOTHING! When the timer on the upper right hits 5:00 hit the button to change tyres, and go from there.

Thank you thank you thank you for thinking about me. You must have known I have a yearning for these endurance races. Count me in. I’m watching thread for more instructions. I will send you a friend request when I get on later.

...can't promise that I'll attend all of the events, but I could get here and there in, mostly is my job a problem (and no, I won't change it :D)

Well @GTP_Guido that was astonishing racing. Sorry for the muck up into the 1st chicaine... I thought you might have damage. And you waited for me:lol:. Too bad we did not get a chance to do that Friday. Hope you will race with us next Sunday!

I just found this while wandering around in my computer.....this is the preliminary stint schedule for 2015 24 hours of Nurburgring for Team DART in AJ's actual time (as in the race starts at the local time at the actual track )racing series. There were four of us on the team. @TEX36 (Jack) planned every race, taking in driver preferences. Each driver did 2 basically 3 hour turns at the wheel.

TRACT is a typo...it is Track Time.

My first stint was from 1740-2020 local...and my second was from 0420 till 0700. And...we did it....about every month. A staggering amount of time went into just the paperwork to make the stints work. BTW the sun set and sun rise were done by time progression and were NOT at European latitudes...thus it was dark as hell from about 8:30 till 0630

This is the race during which the story I have told many times took place.....and...for the last time....here it is.

Its 0630 local Ring time ( the sun is illuminating the Castle) and I am about to finish my second 3 hour Stint most of which was spent in the "green Haze" half asleep. Just as my "I'm really feeling sorry for myself" level has almost pegged....because its been real quiet..no Skype..and Messenger had been silent for hours. I had also turned off the race commentary stream on my computer (during a pit stop) because it was many minutes behind real time and confused me...try watching the road and the TV at the same time some time at the Ring, at night.

When all was presumed lost...my instant messenger on the phone "dings". It was Jack, whom I had already written off as having fallen asleep, The message was...

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

I remember, I was on the Dottinger Hoe....and suddenly I was full of vigor, Thank you Jack!

This schedule was massaged by Jack between the other three of us of us and I think I did both of my stints in the dark with someone taking a stint in the middle so I could eat dinner...... and the race was done in a practice room....with all timing and scoring taking place when the organizer looked at every snap shot we took while entering and leaving the pits and then crunched the numbers...and about four days later a winner was declared...and then protested by everybody. It was about team work

I would do it again, but I would let some young kid take a triple while this gentleman driver took a single (in the dark but a single all the same). Our 3 hour races here in the Rats are ONE of the TWO stints done by all the drivers in that race. 48 Drivers took part in those events.
