RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

I'm pretty sure if she buys it with a UK ps3 it won't work on yours or some wierd reason like that. I can't remember how all that works

And then in about 2 weeks, PlayStation will be cutting the sharing down to 2 from the current 5!!! Yeah, I don't see myself buying 3 copies of a particular game for my family any longer. Price drops mean more PS3's under one roof. And then they pull this crap.

Looking forward to that Bat Mobile tune!

Erm……Typo? Or is the diff on the Mine's R34 special in this respect?

As far as I remember, you can only adjust the rear diff on the R34 Mine's...and the default front diff is a rather odd 3/18/8, kinda like the few 50/80/0 diffs out there

I like those diffs, shame the 350Z Roadster was too close to the 450PP limit to be any good in the Shootout. I nearly left the stock diff in my MX-5 too...

Tested out Dragonthing's Giulia TZ2 yesterday. This is a sublime little car right out of the box, and one of the few, where upping power significantly (adding a high RPM turbo) does not really ruin the handling on stock settings.

I usually like to compare before and after, the only difference here being that the 'after' came first. :) So applied the settings, sans colour (may well make a difference ;)) and took it to the Supercar Nostalgia seasonal in Rome first. I have to say I was a bit surprised by the result - I could still win the race but it was a much tighter event than the one I remembered with the stock setup.

On the bright side, the rear is so completely planted that it is impossible to upset it, at least not in situations where there is no grass or gravel to help along. It will also not punish panic lifting or braking by stepping out of line.

On the other hand I felt the playfulness left at the same time, and it felt quite a bit like a FF car in that a hefty dose of understeer was added. If you applied throttle too early, the nose would really push wide, while the rear just stoically followed.

I tried it at Deep Forrest and Monza as well, to make sure it was not just the track and the general behaviour was confirmed. At the same time it also means that applying throttle in fast sweepers can be done without fear that the rear will punish a ham fisted application.

On top, I do not think that lowering it so much did it many favours on bumpy sections, with kerbs better being avoided - the bantam weight of the car producing too many airborne (and uncontrollable) moments, if you do get closely acquainted with a kerb or two.

The final comment concerns the gearbox ratios - I felt it did not get into the meat of the powerband when shifting. Trying the stock ratios subsequently, there was not much of a difference overall, but potentially there is more to be had from some further tweaking.

In any case, just to verify my impressions, I tried the stock setup after that (but only in Rome). The rear was now much more part of the equation, which may well make it a more difficult car to drive for a novice (some preventive 'oppo being necessary during direction changes) but which makes it more playful as a result, too. And in my hands, at least, between half a second and a second faster around Rome :(

Overall it is a good tune for learning to drive a light FR car, without any heart in mouth moments, especially on a smooth track, and the good PP rating and race hard tires will make it competitive against much more modern competition. However, if you ever make an edgier, rawer version, it will probably get much more use in my hands 👍

RKM Motorsport’s M3 Chrome Line

Based on: BMW M3 Coupe Chrome Line
Obtained: Collectors Edition DLC

How did you pair it Roj? My Chrome M3 is a nasty looking orange that I can't paint :(

Roj since you have the Chrome Line cars, do you have a setup for the R8? Out of all of those cars, the R8 is the one I used the most until I built up my garage. The Merc Gull Wing and the Shelby Cobra are blah. The Lambo was really bad for the rear end whipping around!

Nope, just the M3 and XJ13. My Chrome Line R8 still has no miles actually.

Planning to work on something vaguely interesting later since I'm currently bored outta my skull. Any good suggestions? I know I have a GT500 to work on, but after that...

Group B cars are waaaay too expensive for me, I don't grind endlessly and I don't do remote racing

I'm already working on one or two ideas...

Why not some really good rally tunes? :P

Because I hate rally, because it hates me. I can't get anything off-road in this game right.

Any good suggestions?

Lotus Esprit 350 (special edition) from Used Dealer..

One hell of a good car, can easily take out NSX's and CSL's that haven't been dialled in too well....

No-one hardly ever uses it too, very rare to see it in an online lobby or race series. Most go for the Evora...

👍

Not a bad call but I believe there are already a few tunes for it around, the premium Esprit however seems to have been overlooked by most and could definitely use some loving dragons care.:D

Puts on dunce cap!:dunce:
Oops just checked and see that RJ already has one here.:dopey:

Hmmm, he was mentioning the 350 a while ago but went for the Shelby Series 1 instead, didn't realize Kyle had got round to doing the 350...??

If so - fair enough, my bad :dunce:

The premium Esprit sucks (compared to the Evora and 350 - it can be made to drive very well, but laptimes in online racing - pffffft no chance), that's why no-on uses it - the 350 is so much faster than the premium it's almost a joke...

I'm gutted, the (Premium) Esprit was one of my most wanted cars to drive/race in GT5, so dissappointing.... 350 more than made up for it though.

Might want to start using the B-Spec Grinder. Especially when we have 200% payout still going on. Some say it's cheating. Isn't PD cheating us with inept race purses and so few A-Spec events?

Here's some:

-Toyota Silly Car GT-Phwoar
-Roj's Tuning Area
-Annoying Frog 1
-Annoying Frog 2
-Lotus Carlton
-Chevrolet Corvette GRAND SPORT (C4)

ARE YOU MAD? I will never modify or tune my Carlton or Grand Sport...or the ZR-1 C4 'Vette either, they are my favorite ones...
