RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

The Spirra is one of my favorite cars in the game. The equivalent of an NSX fused with a '01 Cobra motor.

Fixed that for you. ;)

I like the Spirra but I was a bit annoyed by its seeming lack of pace. It's not bad at all in a straight line for whatever PP or power cap you run it at but it's not got the grip of the mad cars (Spirit R, NSX-R, R35).

Thinking of testing out the R8 V10 soon...I want some money though so I can stay in a 'safe' range of money. Which is actually 3 million credits but I've wasted 12 million credits on tuning my own cars...:boggled:

I had to, yes. :D I like the 8C but I dont find it as attractive as most people do.

I'm definitely with you on this one. Not a big fan of the 8c. Drives like crap and the looks are overrated if I'm honest. Looks almost a bit clumsy. However, I dare say it's one of those cars you have to see in real life to appreciate how striking/elegant it is. If I had only seen a DB9 in gt5, I would've thought that was a bit overrated too. That's not a complaint at the gt5 modelling, just that the true essence of the car is sometimes not captured. I have heard that Clarkson slammed the 8C though, saying it handled like a mustang :yuck::scared:. Yet my dad saw one at a petrol station and said the exhaust note was divine. I'm not sure what I think about the car now I think about it :dunce:

Yes. :D It's super effective!

A wild onboy appeared! (lv.13)

Prius! I choose you!

Prius used accelerate! But nothing happened.

Wild onboy used leer! Prius' defence decreased.

Prius used 70 miles to the gallon! Onboy became confused!

Onboy is confused! It hurt itself in confusion!

Prius used matte pink hello kitty livery! It's super effective!

Wild Onboy fainted!

LOL I'm sorry, I'm very easily amused :P

Any chance of the CSL tune making into your list of tunes?? It sounds like a Beast!!
Yes. :)

I've only briefly driven the 8C for a seasonal event and that one special event and I cant say it's bad to drive or anything, but it's not as nice as I'd hoped. Clarkson usually slams Alfa's but he does stand by his saying that you're not a true petrolhead until you own an Alfa. :D Alfa's by nature have sexy exhaust notes so that's expected. :P

The CSL is freaking fast on sports softs too, I just ran a few laps and whilst there is a degree of throttle control needed, it's on pace with the NSX and RE Amemiya RX-7. :D

Ok, I'm going crazy. You gotta stop tempting me like that! I can haz tune? :sly:

I promise I'll write a review if I can stop driving it for a while. :)

Post of the year right there.

Tempt him more!!! Actually, that said, I'm looking forward to it as well, so just be done with the settings and PM them to me. Hopefully Sony puts PSN back for all the world sooner or later…
And Noooo, that cannot be the post of the year, because it involves a Prius!! On the upside, I'm part of it as well :D

I'll PM you both the settings sheet shortly. Once I've made banners I'll post it here publically. :)

Yay! Watch out NSX, RX-7, there's a new kid in town, and it's sporting a set of razor-sharp teeth and 450 raging horses behind its rather subtle (ok, maybe not) body…
I can't wait for that!

Yo dawg, I herd there's a hawt chick with a pink 380RS...

And that's the sound of me getting a little…squirrelly…
btw, Roj…timing is so not your thing, you sent that PM when I was doing a bloody presentation -.-

I was thinking of painting the CSL M.N.P, but that only works on Skylines.

I was thinking a yellow. Ferrari kind of yellow.

Stop going on GTP when you're supposed to be doing work then. :P

I'm thinking of painting mine black but then I quite like Oxfordgrun Metallic on the M3.

I didn't go on!! I just forgot to log out so it still notified me when you sent it :( But still, a lunch time detention is nothing, especially when what I get in return is a hyper fun, hyper fast, hypercar killer!

It has been a while since I did a review. I have a couple of them stored up... What car would people like to see me do?

If I were you, I'd wait until the M3 comes out and do a 3 way shootout with RKM's most fierce rivalry…cuz that's what I'll be doing. Definitely.

I might do that. I have to buy those cars though. I just got the C9 from the Online Dealership. I loved that car in 4 and I will love it again.

I would love to see a show down between these top cars that have (possibly) raced against each other:

XJR-9 LM Race Car '88
R89C Race Car '89
Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car '89
MINOLTA Toyota 88C-V Race Car '89
787B '91

Or:

XJ13 Race Car
330 P4 Race Car
GT 40 Race Car

BUT IT'S PRETTY!!!
Not to mention far more rare.
Unfortunately I sent one of mine to Avid about 5 months ago now and never got it back :(

Well, i case you don't know, my very dear friend (ok, not very dear, but I know him to a certain extent) who runs Avid has gone and will be back in june/july. Just in time for Roj to leave.

These three were supposed to be tuned, but the people who requested it didn't write a review and it wasn't requested in the right way, so all their pleading and offers were a complete waste of space. That said, I do have an XJ13 getting a tune up, hopefully Roj has access to it even though my PSN is down.
(yes, I'm double-posting, but I can't figure out a way to quote and edit a text since I just woke up from the bus ride back home)

1. Quote the post
2. Copy the whole quote
3. Edit original post
4. Pasta the quote (misspelling is pun intended)
5. Type your reply and save changes
6. ??????
7. PROFIT!

And my 2nd Crimson R review should come up in a few minutes.

Oh…thanks for that, not thinking at all…
And speaking of that Korean car, I've just come across one, so maybe this whole 'RKM WWII with Korea added' thing could get going…Shame I blew my money on a Lotus Esprit Sport 350 though.

As promised. Roj, I may state things that you already know, but hey, it isn't only you that is reading this, right? :P

Crimson R(evisited)

Before anything else: Why orange instead of red? It's because I repainted mine in Burnt Orange. I know that it's meant to be red, but sometimes, the cars that we loved sometimes need a paint job in a more special color.

Words cannot express how much I loved this car. This tune did everything I want from the Integra, without those hideous bodykits (which your other Integra tune has). I don't really mind the fact that it's only meant to prove that Sport Softs isn't everything, but from the last time I tested this car, this really shined. Quite decent overall, nothing special, but for an FF, I'd give an applause for a good job.

Because of nothing to do, I fired up teh PS3 again and wasted time by driving random cars in circles the Nordschleife. I ran the E92 M3, R8, among others - and ragequitted because of either screwing up or an invalidated lap time. I've driven the Crimson R before repainting it too, but after one mistake I yawned and almost dozed off. Then I decided to lurk behind the monitor instead.

So, now I got the motivation to spend a lot of time driving, here I am, in the Nordschleife, doing yet another shakedown.

I was expecting it to be a joy to ride. I was looking forward to moments that would slap a grin on my face. But dear God, I was wrong. I'm not saying that it's pretty disappointing, but it's just that driving this in the Green Hell is just freaky. Any understeer would become something catastrophic in an instant. Good thing this car would stay put all the time.

It feels like driving on a REALLY tight touge course WITHOUT railings at all. Nah, even worse than driving your Amemiya RX-7 with Onboy in Suzuka during our shootout. Nah, it feels like slow down and hamper the whole lap or screw up and die. Die. This word would echo in my mind and I was quite fearful.

During the first lap, I barely spun out at Hatzenbach, simply because a single wheel touched the grass. Again, since it's an FF, I could just mash the throttle all the way. I feel relieved about that fact.

Being an FF, there's lots of awkwardness during my run. Its natural understeering behavior is just frustrating. Through Hocheichen, Aremberg, Adenauer Forst, Kallenhard, I'd just enumerate a whole list of most of the 'ring's corners. But the point is that there's only the kerbs to save me. Without them, I'm dead.

Massive corner-plowing got me this time - in Bergwerk. Maybe because I did some part-throttle stuff? Still, that got screwed up my lap bigtime. And a small dent to my precious ITR.

I also don't know at all but in the Karusell, I braked kinda earlier and kept at 65-70 km/h while at 1/4 throttle or so. The understeer keeps pushing and pushing. Somewhere near Wipperman, I nearly got a heart attack. This Integra would commit suicide with explosives if I haven't reacted quickly enough. Also got on the grass at Eschbach, but managed to save it too.

My lap wasn't red yet until I was over-aggressive at Pflanzgarten I. I dugged the inside to prevent death - big mistake. I could have thrown the controller away out of the frustration of getting a lap time invalidated.

Through the long straight, the car maxes out at 236 km/h before going downhill, reaching 245 and braking hard. I still played safe by not braking dangerously late so that my life wouldn't be ruined too. About it's top speed, I guess you left a LARGE room for drafting.

After the first lap, I clocked 8:32. But anyway, that's just the first lap, the tires have yet to be heated and I have to get a bit used to the car.

For the 2nd lap, all I can say is same 🤬, different lap. Not really the same though. I managed to get the car more controlled than before, didn't commit the same mistake at Bergwerk and a few other corners, but it's still a pig. But got invalidated again because I stuck to the far inside - again. Screwed up at the Karusell too because I braked too late. And understeer kicked in yet again at some of the other corners. Especially at both gravel traps near the Pflanzgarten area.

Score of the 2nd lap? 8:27. Much of an improvement, but still not good enough.

For the 3rd lap, I got almost everything sorted, but still made the same mistakes in a few corners. Shot the ball from the 3-point line and got 8:26. Ugh.

Really 🤬 up 4th lap and I decided to chicken out. It was one hell of a ride. Maybe this is the very limit of the comfort tires, since switching to sport softs would solve the problem but would kill the essence of the tune.

Thought this car would still be exciting, despite the lack of oversteer, but it just scares the crap out of me. I nearly wet my boxers. But probably decent enough for comfort tires. Oh well. Guess I need an even better car for Nurby then. CRIMSON R, Y U NO DRIEV PROPERLY? :indiff:

Planning to do yet another one in Cote d' Azur, should I Roj? Maybe I can pass by my, I mean, Raya's girl.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot this bit. Speaking of Nurby lap times, the Crimson R is as fast as a stock Z33. With a better driver, it could have beaten a Cayman, a Lotus Exige, and even better, it may also defeat an E46 M3 and the 2010 Camaro SS. Congratulations.
