Road rage incident, who is wrong?

What I witnessed yesterday.

Older BMW 7er series (with local plate number !!!) just pulled to the right (red traffic light) to block first (middle) lane, then moved to the right when lights turned green.

Doing a U-turn after going straight would have cost him 1 minute. I hate this kind of lazy/dumb people.

Why are you asking about this road rage?

Was the dashcam driver friend or family?

No I don't know any of the people in the video.
I saw youtube and it was talking how that the Explorer was wrong for blocking the camera car and then throwing coins at the car. And I was thinking that the camera guy was an idiot for posting a video complaining about other drivers but he himself is a bad driver and breaking the law. Then reading some of the comments on YT, it mixed reactions on who was right and who was wrong. And I was just interested about GTP opinion on the video.

Let me just say that I don't know quite why someone would speed up to block a lane change, and I also hate it when people do that. The only situation I could think of where that would be worth anything at all is if the other driver is slow and likely to cause a hold-up.

I guess I'm one to talk, as in heavy traffic I tend to do a lot of what this site would consider "dangerous" lane changes. I tend to switch lanes to avoid slowdowns and brake only if I can't find a big enough gap in the other lane.
