Do you think Roleplay is possible?

Ah, that clears it up. Well... I am going to go with maybe. Why? It depends on the game's online structure, car list, and track list.

If the the lobby setup is like GT6, then yeah, it's probably possible to roleplay. But since this is a different kind of Gran Turismo (as in, more aimed at e-sports,) no one knows if we will be even be able to create out own lobbies and if so what will we be able to change.

At the time of launch we're supposedly getting 140 cars. If you've noticed an obvious trend, it's that it's mostly filled with race cars. I don't know if chasing race cars on a street is your cup of tea, but for me, it is not. So the amount of street cars can make a difference.

There are also 15 tracks planned to be included in the game. Like I've said above, since this a motorsport-aimed title, I would only expect real world racing circuits. Maybe we'll get a few fictional roads but I really would not count on it.

Basically, if you want to do any serious cops vs robbers kind of roleplay, I'd say wait for the real Gran Turismo 7. Hopefully once GT7 is out we can go back to the "open" type of GT we are used to. But seeing how Kaz was stating that GT Sport marks the new era for Gran Turismo, we might not be doing any kinds of cruising, chasing, etc. for a while. We'll just have to wait and see.

Besides, it would blow your stats way out. You might not get to be paired with anyone.
It seems unlikely to me that online lobbies, where you could be playing cops and robbers, drifting, drag racing, or simply tuning and practising, would have any influence on your driver class or sportsmanship points.
Or for that matter, that online lobbies will be restricted in such a way that you can only join ones that match your current stats.

So I wouldn't be too concerned about it effecting who you drive against in the daily, weekly, or official FIA events that are scheduled in Sports Mode.

I don't get it. It's free run, nothing should happen. It's not like the game knows you're playing cops and robbers.

...Please elaborate. What do you mean by roleplay? Like cops and robbers?

Well we have to have a practice mode right?

If you could import your own liveries into the game and make a cop livery then its possible. if not with racing liveries , all will be very funny.

Previously my friends and i try to replicate the different of racing category on the road , we had 3 category cars to take part in an event. 360pp. 500pp. and 650pp racing with their own PP range opponent at the same time in SSR5 and constantly need to give way to the faster car who will be passing behind. Great fun and great race. It teaches us alot of thing on how to make way for car behind , avoiding contact.

Well, this thread got off-topic, but if the game has driveable pace cars and a livery editor, I don't see why not.

Especially on that super-bland, poorly designed Tokyo track. Have fun then.

No, reminds me of the GT6 Tokyo track.

I don't see much resemblance personally other than they both have "Tokyo" in the name really! R246 is a beautiful, color-filled, course with great variety. Tokyo Expressway is basically a highway with gray buildings, tunnels, high speed corners, and more buildings.

yeah. R246 is super colorful and i always like the trees there. feels very refreshing.

meanwhile tokyo track in GTS looks like tokyo after zombie apocalypse. but i think if the time of day change to night. This track would be pretty awesome.

is it possible that they've created this new Tokyo track as bland and lifeless in order to keep the framerates up? Maybe it's just fallout of the quest for VR framerate stability?

Without playing around with the new Tokyo Expressway track map and Tokyo street maps, I suspect PD have replicated the surrounding area of the new track realistically.
so in that respect, it is what it is.

R246 drives around park land, hence the greenery.

It remains to be seen, but perhaps we will get other layouts which will have variations of scenery other than buildings.

I'm sorry but, some parts remind me of R246

View attachment 576490 View attachment 576491 That's one of the areas that made me think it's a remade version of R246.
Well to a certain extent any Tokyo scenery where there are tall buildings will bear similarities. but the lack of colour and greenery make the areas look dramatically different in the bigger picture. Any time you have any scene absent of living things it's going to look rather lifeless and I suspect that's the source of most complaints about the new track. Add in some trees, some colour, waving flags, billboards etc. and the track would come to life.

Does iRacing have this "Free Run" where you smash the living crap out crap out of cars or drive in the grass instead of on the track for hours on end just for fun?

It seems to me that they are taking online racing based on skill, very seriously.
