Finally watched it last week after buying the blu-ray. Good film in general and I think my wife enjoyed it more than I did, being unaware of the the story behind it and not really knowing the real life characters. But I found the racing scenes disappointing. Spent most of the time thinking to myself 'that's Cadwell' or 'that's Brands' with a little bit of Donington thrown in for good measure, which was a distraction. The 'ring scene was well executed though and the actors were surprisingly good 👍

Gotta remember mate the film has to appeal to non racing fans as well. This and that sort of got to me as well but will go over the head of non race fans. Like using "gimme some lovin" for the 1st race like in days of thunder.GAAWD!

And it was pretty much an independent production, despite its budget. If they were filming at Brands or Cadwell or Donington, it's because of the limitations of filmmaking. Like the way Crystal Palace no longer exists.

It does actually. Of sorts. They held a race there last month. Some of the Crystal Palace scenes were filmed there, although Cadwell did step in for a majority of the actual F3 race action.
