£8 million for a McLaren F1? Is that the going rate or is this a ridiculously serendipitous profit?
Especially considering that the car has been owned by Blackadder, Mr. Bean and Johnny English as well.He can hardly put 'one careful owner' in the advertisement, can he!![]()

I think Rowan's fame has added quite a bit as well. An example with this many miles & 2 accidents would have raised a few eye brows regardless of the factory's efforts.Seems to be the going rate - or rather, what ever the seller wants, they'll get. I know they were at the £5m at the beginning of the year, but Atkinsons car is now practically 'factory fresh' so i guess that adds value. I'd have thought that after 20-25 years the carbon chassis will have lost some of its integrity. A new one would certainly be stiffer.
Not quite. Yet.Yeah there's very little you could have bought in 1997 for ~£500,000, use it every day and have it appreciate by 7.5 MILLION POUNDS!
Should have bought one if these instead of a house!.... unless it's in the centre of London.
And this isn't even a pristine example, this is the cut and shut McLaren F1 priceGood ones with low mileage go for like £10 mil.
