This is not a question, i believe that Ruf's are tuned Porsche's because they did not design the car, they took a car designed and created by somebody else and made it better. I think what Ruf do is brilliant but you cannot argue that Ruf's are not porsches..

Your oppinions?

Ruf is a tuned porsche, cant really say its not one, same about some tuned cars (made in germany, tuned in the uk)

You are wrong, it's as simple as that and this thread will be locked soon enough I am sure.

Ruf services Porsches, they tune Porsches, they modify Porsche and they manufacture their own cars.

The tuned and modified cars retain their Porsche VIN numbers are still Porsches. The cars Ruf manufactures have Ruf VIN numbers and are recognised by the various countries registration authorities as Ruf automobiles, not Porsches.

Sort of like Miracle on 34th Street - Santa Claus exists because the US postal Service says he has an address and can receive mail, the German TUV says Ruf are their own vehicle manufacturer therefore they are ;)

They are officially approved as a seperate manufacturer, doesn't matter what some forum geeks think (opinion=/=fact).

Wikipedia answers this question perfectly:

RUF Automobile GmbH is a German automobile manufacturer. RUFs are built from unmarked Porsche bodies and chassis. When a chassis arrives, RUF builds their own independent work into the car. Because RUF installs many of their own-made parts, the company is recognized as a manufacturer by the German government.

I'd prefer Porsche to RUF because it's the real deal. Even if it looks like a Porsche, handles like a Porsche and sounds like a Porsche it has the RUF mark on it which makes it "fake".

Lock this thread already. There is another on in the sub forum, no need for another one here. It's a pointless debate because everyone has different opinions and won't settle for another.

There is no "opinion' to the matter.

Ruf is a manufactuer - period. This is fact, not opinion.

They dont only do 'body in white' cars anymore, they also completely make their own car now as well.

SSiiigghhh.....Oh no,not again this debate...

The Intercepter answered this perfectly,or rather his link did... 👍

But it cant be a debate - there is no "oposing opinion" - anyone who says Ruf is not a manufacturer is flat wrong - period - end of story - no debate ;)

They are just wrong

Yes I know it's a fact and I never said this matter was an opinion. I was stating it for members that thinks Ruf is a Porsche there for that's their opinion.

But you cant have an "opinion" about a falsehood.

This is like saying "my unlce is of the opion that the earth is flat".

It cant be an "opinion" because his "opinion" is false. There is no chance of his "opinion' of ever being the right one.

:)

They dont have an opinion, they have the wrong facts.

Okay, this is getting a little hand. We had a perfectly rational and intelligent Ruf-Porsche discussion the other day, but unfortunately it was in the wrong thread. This discussion, on the other hand, is anything but. I'm seeing multiple posts with various AUP issues and we're only a dozen posts into the conversation. So you can either raise the standard of posts in this thread, or I can close it for you. It's your choice.
