HI guys, just asking if any off you have heard the rumor i was told ot my local game store is that PD are releasing before GT5 is

Gran turismo 5 prologue 2

Isnt the Term "prologue 2" an oxymoron?

When do local game stores know more than GTPlanet? This place is the holy grail of info on Gran Turismo.

They have no reason to release GT5:P 2 and considering they were updating Prologue that confirms that Prologue was serving it's purpose. Thats besides the fact that releasing a Prologue 2 would probably take sales from GT5 since the games release isn't going to be far off now relatively speaking, and for Prologue 2 to make any commercial sense it would have to trump GT5:P in terms of content and longivity which would mean passing out even more GT5 content to the public before GT5 actually releases.

I was actually thinking of something like this earlier in the week. I'd been considering Amar's curious post hinting at two versions of Gran Turismo 5, one in which we could get all the stuff for it, and possibly all future DLC, for a higher price, another version for less, possibly with less content, but which could be upgraded. At first I thought this meant GT5 and GT5 Premium Anniversary Edition or something. But I wondered if they might be thinking of giving us a way to upgrade Prologue to a full GT5. Rather than force people to download as much as 40 gigabytes of data, stores would have Blu-rays which upgraded Prologue with GT5 physics and content, which they might call Prologue B-Spec or something. Or maybe the full deal named GT5 Prologue A-Spec. This might be less than $60 US, while GT5 Premium might be as much as $99.95.

I'm beginning to think something like this might happen now...

I'd go for the $99.95 one for sure. All will be reviled at E3. One month. :)

Although a "prologue 2" would be highly, highly unlikely IMO, remember Japan did get Spec III as a seperate release so perhaps it could be something like that to squeeze maximum sales out of prologue before the full game arrives.

I never heard it.. Probably another UPDATE.. but we really do not need 2 Prologue games..

Game is less then one year for release .. no need to give us another Prologue.

That link to Full GT5 game at PLAY.. All it is, its to hurry up the pre-orders. For sure they would not know release date.. and its not THAT early.

GameSpot use to do this too. They put Estimated dates before.. But I think they stop doing that..

I still dont trust Play or GameSpot with release dates.. Unless I see it on the Game's website.
If PD released info .. I bet they have rights so that game sites wont reveal it till some time.. Same with reviews, MGS4 came out, all the reviews had papers and agreement for not to spoil anything.

Play don't know anything, they are never a reliable source for release dates, as with many online sites - they do this to make people pre-order with them "just in case". Sure some people realise and cancel their pre-order, but its a free way to encourage people to pre-order with Play and no-one complains about it.

I recommend waiting for an official announcement before getting excited by anything.

It's Play.com, too. Not some bootleg video game site.:ill:

Yes, its Play.com, a shop that wants people to pre-order with them just as much as anyone else. Not a well-respected games news site and certainly no where near as reliable as an official source....

game sale sites dont know the release date.It is estimated date.Forget it

+1
Play.com had March 09 as the release date up until recently, so unlikely they know anthing we don't at this point. God I hope I'm wrong though, it would be great to have GT5 so soon.

Do you know why nobody complains about it? It's because nobody actually believes those dates because they know they are worst estimates at best. It's not some voodoo black magic to get people to place pre-orders. People will order based on price and experience with that site, not the fact that one place has a release date marked earlier than others...

Having said that, if it makes it more exciting for you to think that there really is a conspiracy behind it all, you go ahead and believe what you like.

Now now, no need to be sarcy, employee of Play perhaps?

No conspiracy mate, just an observation of mine on their business tactics, seeing as several other games have had apparent release dates which were changed later on.
The fact people jump on it is here in this thread - people don't even have to order something, the fact we are talking about Play.com right now is free advertisement.

If I was running an online shop, I'd do the same thing because I know people watch such things like hawks and it quickly becomes much-talked about.
But I don't see why you have to act so defensive about it - what does it matter to you how much I do or do not respect an online shop?

Also, I'd be interested to know how you think its a conspiracy? I'm not saying they are hiding anything or that they are wrong in anyway - just warning we shouldn't jump on such things too quickly as they are a shop and they are not the most reliable of sources.

If there's a Prologue 2 I doubt I'd buy it, what a waste of money that'd be for something that should be a download.

Forget the idea of a GT5P II.
Just give us a nice Spec IV update with a few more cars and tracks and then we will wait patiently for the full release.

HaHa:rolleyes: of course you will buy it. They will push GT5 back to 2011 and SpecIV is actually GT5P2, but there will also be more 10 more cars and an extra track, oh and maybe a limited beta version of private rooms. Oh and more KY rock solid promises, of course. Haven't you heard?:sly:

Let's not be such a mother-in-law now. Perhaps you didn't know about far more promises actually made and broken by Turn 10 over Forza 2. Or Eutechnyx with Ferrari Challenge and SCC. Or... well, you could go on and on. Too many people insist that Kazunori promised one thing or another, and often I'll find a slightly different quote.

Tell you the truth, I rather hear PD at E3 dropping every single thing about GT5, hoping for day/night and damage.. and then I will wait patiently.

Ok fellow Adelaidian, what store told you that? :D

The only thing it could mean is the retail version will be replaced with the GT5P Spec III version with the Citroen by GT thing on the front like they released in Japan.

If they pushed back GT5 that far (which would royally piss everyone off), I might buy Prologue 2. But why spend $50-60 for another demo when the full game is due in less than a year?
