Running GT5 on PS3 WITHOUT disc??

Anyone here have experience with this? My blu ray drive is dead after 5 years of relentless use. But it happened at such a terrible time, 1 week before today, start of GT academy. As of right now, replacing the system is out of the question, and so is changing the drive and/or laser. I have searched on Google (play GT5 without disc) and the first result was a forum dedicated to running games w/o discs, or at the least that is what the discussion was about. Something about a back up disc and some programs......

Anyone here have any idea what this is? Or are there other ways of running GT5 w/o disc?
