Given my lack of using the DFGT over the last few weeks, I might pop in for this if there's room to get me back in the groove with it...even if these cars are a bit out of my league :)

There will be plenty of room.

Fully broken in with an oil change, my R92CP has 722 PP instead of 717. Is this expected?

I assume my Sauber C9 will also be higher than 722 with an oil change.

Right. I haven't updated the list with the final PP, but most everyone will be doing some engine limiting. I think 721 was the number, and I'll check that shortly.

Okay, I'll hold off on an oil change for the Sauber. It would be 728 PP with it, but it's probably better if I don't have to limit it too much.

Nah, go ahead. It won't more than 10%. I'm ok with that.

Damn , I was looking forward to racing tonight:grumpy:! Just got home 15 minutes ago.

Two weeks of practice gone to pot:banghead:!

Hope there was a good turn out:tup:

Welp, I'm surprised I lasted that long. Great racing. Too bad about all the disconnects. :/

I don't know how I would have finished, but probably not too well. I stayed on RM's the whole time, was that my downfall? Anyone care to share their strategies?

Anyway, I had fun. Endurance racing is painfully under-represented in GT5, especially since most races in real life are fairly long, and most of GT5's races are only a few laps. I definitely got my fill tonight, so thanks for letting me race. :)👍

Six to start, two finished. Next week should be better. You can host.

Make sure you're not spinning those rear wheels. My first stint I was not too cognizant of it, and I was at about 10% on the rear by lap 15. I was able to do 17 and 18 laps on the next two stints with ~20% on my rears.

Who is ready for the 1:45 of Fuji next week?!

I went 18/17/16/14 laps on RM. My strategy was to try to have the best tyres at the end when everyone should be spinning due to a lack of concentration....that was the plan anyway, I didn't get lapped at least :)

So true, I was babying my tyres as much as I could....I believe I caused diabolic to spin in avoidance when he was behind me just before my pitstop with my early braking :(

I think I pitted too often. I only went in every 13 laps with about 40-50% left on my tires. I probably could have babied it a bit more and saved some time. However, I think the fuel was the main thing that took up time in the pits. No matter how often you pitted, that seemed like it was the biggest factor.

I also made a lot of driving mistakes, so I can't just blame my strategy.

Yeah, I thought I would do that as well so I was trying rather hard to not push like crazy. Of course, that didn't last and, as the race went on, I made more errors (but I did get my fastest lap on around lap 43 or so, lol). I might have been able to trouble dabney if the last half of my race was on par with the first half

Yeah, I noticed I made the fastest lap overall around 29, then again lap 30 or 40. If I was more consistent and had a better strategy, I would have had a chance. (And if I didn't get disconnected, though I suppose I should be happy I wasn't winning when it happened)

Some pikkies from last night at Daytona:

Safely through turn one of lap one.

The car of choice also appeared to be the car easiest to spin.

The exit of the bus stop proved to be tricky to get right.

But it didn't affect dabney as he cruised to the win by over a minute.

Hoping to get a little bit of practice with my R89C before the race this week :)

Edit; I'm predicting the best times to be around 1:27's or thereabouts.

Couldn't stand being as bad as I was so I decided to give up instead of getting in the way :(

Kendawg pretty much had his way. Dabney was catching him at the end I think but didn't have enough time to run him all the way down.

Thanks for the run!

I was thinking about pitting with 10 laps to go. But with the lead I figured that I would slow down and keep it on the track. Well with 3 laps to go spun on the worn tires and hit the wall. Thought I was in 4th gear but I was in 3rd. So the car hit the power band when I hit the accelerator and around we go.

It was a fun race. First time ever driving those cars.

Looks to me like you might consider driving them more often. :sly:

Dang....all in favour of ken having to detune his car by another 100hp, raise your hands

Spa? Thought a Toscana track was going to be run this week?

Nevermind. It's the Saturday enduro running Toscana.

I better get some practice in....

LOL tezgm99

The key to running these cars is to keep it in a higher gear coming out of the turns. These cars have sooo much power you have to keep the wheels from spinning.
Sometimes detuning a car will actually help..
