Same AI cars in races often times

Why is it in many, not all of the races, I get matched up with AI cars of the exact same type and often color.

For example, I'll be in a rally car and the game will set me against 3 Nissan GRAN TURISMO SKYLINE GT-R (PaceCar) '01.

Or I'll be in a RUF CTR2 '96 and the game pits me against 2 RUF CTR2 '96 and 1 Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Rally Car '92.

This happen often in the races. I get very happy when the game gives me 3 totally different AI cars. 👍

Is there a way to make the game pick more varied cars?

I don't know how it chooses, but it does do a lot of duplicates. Try a race using the Bugatti and you will probably be up against 3 GT Citroens. I had a race on one of the Yosemite dirt tracks and 2 of the cars were Spykers, probably one of the last cars I would have chosen for that track.

I hate when i'm in the Zonda C12S(I use this instead of the 7.3 as it doesn't have incredibly long gears) I always end up against 3 Cadillac Ciens. Or when i'm in the Pescarolo C60 Hybrid, I get 3 Suzuki Escudos to race with(also happens with Nissan R92CP). There are more examples that I just can't think of right now.

Geez i had to race against 3 ferrari F2007's while i was racing with the toyota gt one race car. Totally not fair and not fun having 3 of the same cars.

The tires you choose also affect who your competitors are...

I also hate that I have to race F1 cars in Group B cars. It's impossible because they will win around the corners and the Group B cars can't grab them back on the straights until you reach the 200's which is impossible at most tracks.

It's really strange because in GT4 you almost never got the same car to race against, and in GTPSP they only have to add 3 cars.

Takes the fun out of some cars, like the NSX Le Mans Roadcar, im getting 3 Veyron's all the time 👎

Oddly, the million times I did the test course for cash with the Veyron I was only ever pitted against Veyrons and TVR speed 12's. I've never seen a GT.

It probably has to do with the car you start out with somehow haha.. seriously.

When I came across this wildly unfair match-up myself, I vowed to always turn on 'Same Manufacturers' for all of my subsequent races. The improved racing quality is more than enough trade-off for the lack of variety IMO.

Oddly, the million times I did the test course for cash with the Veyron I was only ever pitted against Veyrons and TVR speed 12's. I've never seen a GT. .

Whenever I race the Veyron, I'm always against 3 Citroen GTs, on any track .

Change the tires on the car and the lineup will change

Can't do that on dirt/snow races which is what I mostly race.
