i know it doesn't count fot gt5p but if you download someones game save for a game with trophies do you get those on your account?

Nope. Trophies aren't applied retroactively to gamesaves - you must perform the required action to get the trophy attached to your profile.

GT5P licenses should be performed same way. They could be like trophies too. I hope in full version it will be like that.

how do i open the file in the first place???

Right click on the zip file and select Extract All. Windows XP should extract the zip with its own tools built in. You could also download some unnecessary software to extract it and other files, up to you. Beyond Windows XP, I don't know.

hey guys, have a problem.

I have a 2007 labelled Japanese copy of GT5p on BD, im assuming that this is spec1 going by the 1st page of this thread as its a 2007 copy. Im using a PAL PS3 im guessing as im in Australia. None of the Japanese Spec1 , 2 or 3 files are working for me, im no noob at doing the transfers properly as i know im doing it right, do i not have the version i think i have?

Okay, first things first. The term you're looking for is "Japanese" or, if you're intent on contracting it, "JPN".

Load up your game on your console. If it asks you to update, you probably don't have Spec 3. Have a look through the dealerships - if you can't see Citroen, or you don't have the option of buying a Ferrari F2007 Formula One car, you have Spec 1. If you CAN see Citroen and there's some bizarre-looking future-car in there (called "GT by Citroen"), it IS Spec 3. Otherwise, it's Spec 2.

If the box and disc say NTSC/J on it, then it's definitely the Japanese version you need. If they say NTSC/UC, it's the American one. If they say PAL, it's the PAL one you need.

Now, when you say that none of the "files are working for me", what issue are you experiencing that you can tell us which would help diagnose exactly in what way they aren't working and tell us what the weak link is?

Okay, my JPN version DVD disc has only the following info "BCJS 30017, JASRAC, FOR JAPAN ONLY" I have no Citroen or extra Fezzas to choose from so SpecI is what i have, i dont have my PS3 linked to the web yet so everything is as is new and un-updated. I have created the correct subfolders on my USB stick and have placed the savegame files correctly, then just copied it over to my PS3, when i go to copy it over i check the file size and it always says 78kb regardless of what savegame file i have moved over. Usually a savegame file is way bigger than that, ie mine is about ~350kb but each different one i use downloaded off here shows up as "start" amount of kb when i check savegame files in menu. Then when i start up the game it just creates the savegame data via the game ie new game, none of the saves are working for me. ideas?

Okay, I've checked Chronos's JPN/BD/SpecI save on the PC and it seems fine, even down to the size (the .DAT file is 9kb - a comparable Spec II PAL file I have here has a 13kb .DAT file). I can't see any reason why the file wouldn't work, though I'd have to manually check it on the PS3 tomorrow.

Just to check, you're not including the folder called GT5pJPN-specI in your folder tree? It's (Root):/PS3/SAVEDATA/BCJS30017-GAME-/(5 files) ? Helps eliminate other causes before I check the file (since it's quite late at night here, I wouldn't be able to check until the morning)

Definatly have the files worked out correctly, ill keep trying and see how it goes, if not im stumped ..

Heres exactly what im doing.

I have a USB drive clear. Downloaded Chronos ZIP of JDM Spec1 for BD. Copy to USB as PS3>SAVEDATA>BCJS30017-GAME- then the files within. Plug USB into PS3, delete previous save game data so no save game data exists for GT5P, then i select the USB drive in saved game utility, then hit triangle to copy over the file. I have noticed when i copy it over its only 74kb and not a larger number which a game with all cars should have, my own game is about ~350kb. I am led to beleive the Chronos Spec1 game file is not what its said to be. What am i doing wrong?

Hi

Here is pictures of my Japan BD Spec II & III save data size that work 100%, they also have everything gold, every car plus duplicates, full credits.

As you can see, all my saves are the same size regardless (around 77kb), its only game data. I don't know why you think it should be 350kb, I've only seen that size when I've saved 5-10 laps race replay of Suzuka or something. Maybe my JPN BD and PS3 is different.

I uploaded this save in April just after the update, and it is Spec I with all cars and all golds for C,B,A,S and dealer races. I backed up this save when I updated to Spec II as a safety measure and never started a spec II game on my other account.

Is your extracting corrupting/expanding the data? Do you have the F40 & Ford GTLM in the dealership?

Also, I don't fancy uninstalling GT5P to double check this save, but 80 people have downloaded it from my recent post, maybe someone has got it working who can tell me.

EDIT: Could someone make a RAR file out of it? I don't want to download winrar shareware trial software. I can extract RAR for free but can't find a free and easy way to make them.

I do have a non-updated JPN/BD version, but I haven't had time/inclination/opportunity to check it yet.

- dont have either fords in dealer
- no corruption of files indicated
- no hassles transferring files, only that theyre not running in game
- my own game save file is ~350kb, yours are all ~77kb?

i think im just going to get a PAL version and see if i can get that working 👍

Just wanted to thank Watevaman for his US BD spec III download and gtplanet for hosting and how could I not give props to Famine for his dedication and cynical wit, I also love his sarcasm. :indiff:

Just wanted to let the newbies ( I was one until I put my 3 hours of research in) know that if you have trouble extracting the file like I did originally ( I was getting corrupt file message from the program that is with Vista and Winzip), try downloading Winrar it was the only program that unzipped the files with no problem.

It is not necessary to make the sub directories either on your memory stick as the download will do itself.

See you at the track!!!!!

I'm trying to download the us bd specIII save but I keep getting an error. So I tried onebadjoker's tip and winrar just created one file and didn't actually extract the files.
Can someone help me?

Try extracting that file.

Personally, I find no issue on any of my computers using the Windows Compressed File Wizard (on XP).

1bj - Sarcasm doesn't always travel well :D But... It's what I do ;)

Let's see, I got a huge problem regarding these saves.

I got a brand new PAL Bluray copy of GT5p, Considering the fact I had to update my game which took quite some time, even thou i have a 25 mbit connection, I think it was a spec II bluray retail copy.

I started a new game after it was updated, bought 1 car, saved my game and shut it down.

Then I copied my freshly created save to USB, and replaced the files on the USB with the PAL Spec III save.

What I immediately noticed was that my own save, I created 5 minutes before I replaced all files with the downloaded version, had 1 additional file named GAME.DAT, which isn't in any save iv found online so far.

After I copied the downloaded save to usb, and replaced all my old files, I put it back in the PS3, copied it back to the harddisk. (500gb disk, installed yesterday).

When I boot the game, I get a newgame, 30000 credits, no cars, nothing at all.
Im 100% confident im using the right save for my version of GT5P, yet still, something must have been done wrong, anyone who might know what I did wrong?

Is the Update stored on your new HDD too? Have you deleted your 1-car savegame from your PS3?

Yep, tried both of it, it just wont budge.

Also tried to copy the 1 car save's game.dat to the downloaded save, and that didnt work either.

Replaced a few saves I lost a while back today via the same usb stick, which went flawlessly, however GT5P just wont budge :ouch:

Let me rephrase what he is trying to say

He just got gt5p and he is looking to find a working SAVE GAME file that works with his version. as he cannot update the game to SPEC III till next week
What is the exact file he needs to download?
Its PAL we're in australia if that helps..

Information that may come in handy - Australian copies of GT5P may not be PAL. I have checked games in stock at various outlets and they are all NTSC as is my original game purchased some time ago. There is no region or system information stated on the case - the clue is the web address - If its a US based address then the game is NTSC and if its a EU address you have PAL.
Hope this helps
