Saving pictures to my harddrive......

Ok.
How come when i try to save an image(any image) to my hard drive from the internet,it is always save as a .bmp?

even if the file type is a .jpg!

How can i fix this?

Right click>save picture as> and select "save as type" (below the file name) And select your type and save it.

or put ".jpg" ,".JPEG" ,".gif" etc right after the file name. Hope this helped.

I have seen Internet Explorer save JPEGs with the BMP extension, in which case all you need to do is rename the file as F1Man says.

But you're best off to load the picture into an editor that can handle anything (like Paint Shop Pro). This will keep you right on the formatting, and you can then save the file with the right type.

It just all of a sudden started working again
