RACE RESULTS & RECAP
Although there were comparatively few people taking part in this event, some problems with the game as well as what appeared to be some general network or server problems with the PSN resulted in numerous people being ejected during some of these events. As such, IMO, the points are a bit of a wash and do not truly represent what was
potentially possible had everybody been able to race straight through to the end. But we'll chalk it up as 'mechanical failures' and let it stand.
My own performance during these events left quite a bit to be desired but I had quite a bit of fun and some good battles, which is really what matters.

I qualified in mid field and allowed one or two cars to get around me while taking a conservative line into the first corner. I tried hard not to make contact to the car in front although ended up touching slightly anyway and allowed Firedshot to squeeze underneath. A mistake braking and getting a little lock-up while off line a few corners later had dropped me back nearly to the back of the field. For most of this race, I had a good battle going with Firedshot, with a little DrSt01Ner & Ghost_Yelo thrown in for good measure. In general, I felt I was just a bit faster than Firedshot but just not fast enough to get a clear run on him. And several odd errors by one or the other kept things pretty even.
At one point I was ahead of both Firedshot and DrSt01Ner but a slight and accidental nudge in the braking zone at turn one had me off and dropping back. In the end, it was a real neck and neck battle with Firedshot all the way to the finish line. Although the game awarded victory to me (timing error) to me it was obvious that Firedshot was ahead of me so I'm giving the position to him. Well done. 👍

I think I've made my feelings about this track abundantly clear. It's a disgrace. But it is the only track (save Autoclub) that has not been featured in the Classic Series and with the events winding down, it's inclusion was a necessary evil. Coming in last for me was almost inevitable due to a combination of lousy driving and my lack of experience at this track. But considering the amount of pushing and shoving going on, intended or not, my mind is clear this is just a lousy track for decent racing.
I didn't start off too badly and at the beginning of lap 2, I was running 2nd behind Drivatar. I made sure to brake early but then downshifted into first a little early, my car sputtered, lurched forward and I ended up punting drivatar off!
From that point, once I made sure he retained the position, the rest of the field was right on my bumper and showed little mercy. Within a few seconds I was relegated almost to last place.
At one point, several laps later, I was in the middle of a 3 wide battle going down the back straight, although I admit, that i put myself in that position. But realizing that it was about to end in tears, I backed off first to concede the position, only to suffer the inevitable off road contact anyway when some side by side contact and maybe a little lag with Firedshot caused both of us to run wide.

Although I did get at least 25 laps of practice in on this track over the last week, it's a track I rarely race on and my lack of experience showed. I lost the lead after a ridiculous mistake at the infield hairpin on lap two and simply didn't have the pace to keep up with turnupdaheat or Firedshot, nor with mhm66 who passed me a few laps later. After a mistake by Firedshot a few laps later, I found it interesting how I could make up time on him in some sections but he pulled away from me with impunity in other areas, showing we had similar pace but different driving styles.
This race unfortunately resulted in several people being kicked out of the lobby. Both MHailwood and Stoner had retired the race before and did not return. As such, it's difficult to say how this race would have panned out with a full field.

Right from the get-go, this race was a problem. I selected the option to change the number of laps and conditions and all of the sub-menus were blank on my screen. With no other choice, I closed the lobby and re-opened another. This was unfortunate because I had planned to run this race in reverse finishing order from the previous race. After a quick vote in text chat, we ran a quick qualifying to set grid order.
This race was actually a lot of fun and I regret that I ran out of tape about 1/2 way though the race. Once again, I had a race long battle with Firedshot. And just the reverse of the Nurburgring, I believe he had the measure of me here at Mugello Sport but simply wasn't able to get by me. Indeed, this is a tough track to pass.

FINAL RESULTS:
Considering that two people did not take part in the last two races and the fact that several people were kicked from the lobby at other tracks, the results are heavily skewed. But the winner either way, and by a comfortable margin, is the quick man from Denmark. Congratulations Henrik! I see the Playseat is helping!

Once again, a big thanks to all those who took part in the 288 GTO event. We have just one more event to run in the classic series and I hope to be making an announcement in the next few days.
As a side note, I was reviewing my video and note the following:
- I have about 6 laps of blank footage at race 1 between laps 4 & 10. Truly a pity.
- Paul Ricard has a lot of artifacts on the screen.
- Mugello Sport I'm missing the last half.
- In general the quality is quite poor.
I'll post the videos as soon as they're processed.
